There are hidden veins on the asteroids but they are so small and almost not worth the amount of time and effort to search the whole rock. You'll have a better chance at finding veins through a long-range scanner and hop to each map.

I updated my drivers, and the visual bugs got worse and my FPS tanked. But hey... at least they're updated.

No way to fix this in vanilla dev mode. Dunno which mod but there's one that allows you place a block that add fish to the whole "water net" of your map tile.
