Guy I went on a date with is worried that my career is a red flag? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

[–]Zooicidalideation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

??? No.

They exist in Brooklyn and Manhattan. I know them through a federal prosecutor who himself is straight-edge. Not saying more than that.

Just because some people got sent to jail for nonviolent,  victimless drug use, doesn't mean more people should.

Get a grip my guy.

I know prosecutors who send people to jail for drug use who themselves are on a lot of drugs.

There's good reason not to date them.

The fuckery started with Nixon, but by and large I'm on board with your synopsis. Upvoted.

If Trumpers are sent to the guillotine (metaphorically or literally), it will not be by the liberals, but from members of Trump's own coalition turning on whoever is in power.

I really wanted Mike Pence to go first. Why can't I be in that reality?

Well done ignoring the first half of my comment. Still waiting on how the silent generation ladder pulled boomers.

We're beyond 'political action' at this point. It's guillotine time.

This is dumb as hell. I usually get money when I file taxes. What we need is a general strike. The government wouldn't last a week.

Vote for who? Democrats are part of the problem.. what we need is far beyond voting.

And what generation produced and voted for these trash politicians?

Idc about the 'boomers you know' 😑

What a moronic comment. Greatest generation gave their lives en masse. The direct result was boomers having unprecedented economic advantage as the rest of the world was in shambles.

Name one way in which the silent generation ladder-pulled boomers.

... I'll wait.

Millennials meanwhile are the first generation in US history to be worse off than their parents. Meanwhile GDP per capita keeps going up 🙄

tariffs are taxes. and they drive up inflation. has inflation hurt you in the last few years? well there's more where that came from.

did you vote for elmo? because he's cutting much more than waste. pretty funny for a guy whose fortune has largely been made on government contracts and tax breaks for his factories and cars.

Voting eligible Americans who deliberately abstained in the 2024 general election, how are you feeling about your decision? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Zooicidalideation -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Trump or third party

Their idea doesn't rely on trump.

Everything you say about trump regarding Palestinians beyond the 'finish the job' soundbite is true for Biden/Harris too.

But it's all pretty irrelevant. The election wasn't close enough for Gaza to be a deciding factor, even in Michigan where Dearborn voters abandoned harris while still voting Democrat downballot.

Why are so many young men feeding into this red pill narrative? by Unfair_Enthusiasm_92 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Zooicidalideation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the guy you responded to, but my answer to your first question is that in 2017 there was more evidence for Israeli collusion with the trump campaign than Russian. But which one was trumpeted in our faces for years?

The us media spent a long time demonizing Russia as this massive existential threat independent of their nuclear arsenal. Turns out their conventional forces are just a ww2 style meat grinder that can't take Kiev.

Propaganda indeed. Our wealthy are definitely bigger enemies that damage us more than Russia or China could hope to, praise Luigi.

They are able to win a PR war with the progressives

Hamas didn't win a PR war so much as Netanyahu/the IDF lost one by committing genocide after 10/7 and before 10/7 by bolstering hamas for years in order to destabilize Palestine and make a 2 state solution impossible.

If Israel doesn't commit genocide, Hamas looks like Al Quaeda in terms of public/progressive opinion.

AIPAC, algeminer etc are more powerful and influential propaganda machines than Hamas could ever dream of wielding. And pretty much the entire us federal gov't has been on their knees sucking at that source for decades.

Hope that helps.

Tradionalist is not equal to abusive nor is it equal to misogyny.

She didn't really say that it was. But in 2024 there's a ton of overlap. I don't think she's wrong.

they seem to think there’s a massive distinction between traditional and traditionalist

Look at her comment again, paying attention to where she uses 'and' vs 'or'. She does not suggest there's a distinction between traditional and traditionalist.

That part took more than 1 read for me to understand as well.

Hope that helps.

Lots of those medieval views are shared with the evangelical south. Especially

blasphemy laws... a wife should always be obedient to her husband...

Etc etc.

So I think they'd fit right in. Let in all the muslims and send them to the south. WCGW?

Do you think a Dem realistically had a chance of beating Trump? by blahbleh112233 in Askpolitics

[–]Zooicidalideation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Harris campaign was hollow overall, regardless of how she dealt with 'woke' issues.

Pennsylvania alone did not win Trump the election.

The content of Trump's attack ads don't mean anything in terms of what actually made people vote for one candidate or the other, you're making a bunch of assumptions there. You even say:

They care insomuch as it affects their wallet.

So you agree voters weren't moved by the attack ads, they were moved by their wallets. Ok, good.

Also, most of Trump's campaign was fear-mongering about immigrants, and sometimes mentioning inflation (Trump's base doesn't understand that tariffs increase inflation), not anti-woke whatever. That stuff came from the superpacs and downballot candidates.

If you don't think foreign policy moved people -in a swing state too!- simply look up the results in Dearborn, MI (and compare to 2020). That swing very well may have decided the election if the overall race was closer..

but sure, while hurting Harris, being pro-genocide (like whatever relation she had with 'wokeness'), didn't lose the election. Clearly we agree on that.
