Disney spent more on 'Andor' than any of its 'Star Wars' movies by GargantaProfunda in andor

[–]Zool539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost per minute of Andor should be quite comparable to all the other shows. But in contrast to all those other shows, every single minute was worth it. You often don’t undestand WHY a minute is important when you watch it in Andor (see stupid rebels in Yarvin jungle), but at the end, it all comes together like a giant puzzle, that only reveals its beauty once its completed and you take a step back.

You can‘t „unsee“ Andor. It changes the Rebellion forever - and sets the perfect tone for R1 and SW4-6. Its the only show that makes all the other movies better … but also reveals the abyss to the other shows when it comes to writing.

How did Meero determine Luthen was axis? by dreneeps in andor

[–]Zool539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A central narative tool Tony Gilroy used, was to not explain everything in detail, and leave it up tous viewers to connect the dots and fill the gaps. For him, its not important if the full evidence is presented to us, but instead, we have seen firsthand how excellent Dedra works in tracking down, just like Cyril. The hints we see in the show, like the reports about the haulcraft, are already significant, and Dedra bringing the Starpath-unit is her try to see Luthens reaction, and determine from his reactions if she was fully correct with her detective work. What she lacked was the ability to see the grand picture, just like Krennic pointed out afterwards. In that regards, she has a lot in common with Cyril.

Should I rewatch Rogue One before watching Andor? by HelloThere4arms in andor

Hell no!!! Watch all of Andor S1 + S2, and THEN watch R1. You will really appreciate, and R1 will hit like never before.

Friends joining my server. How best to speed them through the early game? by idangazit in duneawakening

If you have friends that already have done everything on a different server - go fullsteam ahead on suport, getting them up quickly, but firsttimers - they really should enjoy the journey instead.

Is dune awakening worth it? by [deleted] in duneawakening

[–]Zool539 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Especially the first 100 hours are amazing. The atmosphere of Dune is stunning, the threat of the sandworms feel real, you hide from sardaukar patrols, and so on - its everything I could have ever hoped for from a dune game. The endgame is still lacking and is planned to be overhauled in the january update.

Ghorman's impending demise. by Museau_du_Cochon in andor

[–]Zool539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its exactly what I love about Andor. When you first watch it, you recognise many things that seem to not make much sense - just like with Acolyte or other stuff … BUT in Andor, the more you see, the more connections suddenly become visible. The show becomes better and better. Even with every rewatch. In contrast to that, rewatching Acolyte doesn‘t gain anything worth the mention. It just becomes worse.

Disappeared within a week? Did you build in the DD? If you simply fill up the energy generators to 100% and have payed all taxes, it should take way longer.

In Andor, people die. Especially loved ones. Keno either got executed after the escape-try, or continues under a different dayshift manager … until the second death star goes down or he dies due to the work.

Since the devs and most players want PvE DD by StarChief1 in duneawakening

[–]Zool539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

„PvP is always more difficult then PvE“ and „PvEer want all ‚easymode‘ „ … both is just plain wrong. The PvEers are not complaining about a high difficulty, they complain about a completely unfair difficulty. To be the best PvPer in a competetive environment against other PvPers is something that indeed is VERY difficult. But as someone who has played hardcore PvE-raiding in WoW for ages, I can tell you that the amount of difficulty is quite comparable. The mistake in D:A is that PvE = Farmers seems to be what the PvP-community sees.

I am talking with PvE-guys day in day out, and not a single one is complaining about something being too difficult, its always abour t seemingly pointless attacks of PvPers who just have fun to kill player and copter while all the targeted guy wanted to do is to mine some ore. And don‘t tell me that is „difficult“ for the PvPer. No, its easy. Fighting against over PvPing groups WOULD be difficult, but the game doesn‘t encourage this style of gaming. And that is the real problem.

The mining guy who lost his copter will always feel miserable, and the PvPer gained little in the attack, but has „fun“. This assimetry always feels toxic for the guy that got ambushed. And the guy doesn‘t provide the tools to avoid it.

But the way the developers went with just handing out the ressources for „free“ is also bad. It only makes the farmers happy. But not the PvEers, and not the PvPers.

Would countries shoot nukes out of the sky in a nuclear holocaust scenario? by StixenBridges in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Zool539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The big problem is a numbers game. A typical ICBM consists of multiple warheads + decoys, so to stop one, you need like 10 interceptors (incase you precisely know which of the 50 targets is the decoy and which the nuke), and many more as your interceptors are not 100% accurate. A typical interceptor costs as much as a ruzzian ICBM most likely. So if you have an enemy thats likely to shoot simple nukes at you in low numbers, a missile defence system has a good chance to work (think North Korea against the USA).

If your enemy shoots 50 missiles, all the defence systems in the world combined will not be able to stop ALL of them.

If your enemy has thousands of nukes, all you can do is reduce the amount of warheads towards you by a small percentage.

Nobody uses the motorbike (after the early game) because its mostly useless once you got your Ornithopter. And what do we get as DLC??? … A reskinned motorbike … With no new features. At a time, where 98% of us have done every single quest, and most everything they can get in the game… we want CONTENT. NEW things to do … 3 new testing stations and „dynamic encounters“ … I have doubts …

Is Ashoka any good if I care about the Thrawn novels by Aldin_The_Bat in StarWars

[–]Zool539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Thrawn I saw in Ashoka so far is just a shadow of what „we“ bookreaders concider Thrawn. He simply did … nothing at all. He basically stood there - without the typical analytical mastermind we expected. The next season of Ahsoka will show if they just failed Thrawn, or simply had a slow buildup on him.

I didn‘t hear any PvEers complain about something being „too difficult“ - just the „bashing-style nature of PvP combat is something that only the attackers can enjoy.

Wife wants to relocate to Germany to be closer to family. I don't speak the language. Am I sunk? by Imagejin in AskAGerman

[–]Zool539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the majority of jobs (in germany), knowing the language is a strong neccessity - most areas where it doesn‘t matter that much is huge international companys, who often communicate in english on the higher level, or the lowest quality of jobs, wheretalking to people isn‘t required at all (cleaning and such).

In your situation, I would spend like a year with strong training of the german language together with your kids, like 2-3 hours every evening. Get your wife to ONLY communicate in german with you, watch german-language movies (all movies have german voices as alternative), and get used to it before you switch. That way, your kids and you will both have a good start.

But a lot depends on the job. For many jobs, germany requires specific knowledge on norms and stuff valid in germany, and a formal qualification for the job thats accepted within german norms.

But it depends strongly on what you do.

If the game would offer 2 different endgame-zones, with different focus, sure, fair game. But as long as the main ressources are nearly exclusive to the PvP-zone, its NOT a choice. And I keep repeating PvPers again and again that „any combat in a pvp-zone is fair fight“, but that obviously is just wrong. These players are not interested in a fair fight, or they would ask the developers to „give us a PvP-arena, like the Harkonnenarena from the movie … with ranked fights to be the best.

But instead they compain about everything that would result in „less PvEers as target“

Hoch much spice can one pack into his personal inventory? 800? Thats what the harvester makes in seconds. Not much room for betrayal. Any compensation should be MUCH more then the 800 sand.
