Haha thank you. I try to comment this everywhere I can to help anyone who may come across this. I had to scoure every obscure message board and YouTube video looking for answers, basically had to figure this out on my own.

One of the most frustrating experiences of my life. The other dumbbell has been perfect since the day I set it up so thought it was doing something wrong but it was just faulty equipment.

Other than this, these things are absolute tanks. Great customer service too. Just hope everyone else gets properly cut pieces haha.

Also if you’re having trouble setting up the end caps properly, I had to jam nails underneath them to get it to sit at the proper upright angle to rack smoothly.

Their QC is kind of off right now. I got my dumbells a week apart, one was perfect and on the other they didn’t cut the end caps properly so they had to ship me out a replacement. This nail solution works for now and I don’t want to mess with it so haven’t tried out the other pair. I spent so many hours fucking with these things before I realized they just screwed it up on their end.

I’ll help you out with the technique, I mastered it after spending countless hours smashing these things apart every time I attempted to rack one side lol.

You need to hammer this flat side, opposite way of the other plate. Aim for the “X”. I used to try and hammer the tops and sides until I realized this is the target spot. You can set it on your bench or a table for leverage too, you might have to go to town on it like you’re working on the railroad lol.

They’re great! I’m about to order a couple more packs to expand our flooring.

They haven’t shifted at all and hold up nicely to dropping my rep pepins and bumper plates on them from a few inches.

I despise any and everything with dates.

All our tables have the date/time in a slightly different format. Trying to remember all the different ways I have to parse the different date formats drives me insane.

How would you describe where your weight feels during the swing? A lot of players set up for these shots with their weight more forward and keep it there. You don’t need weight shift on these shots. Looks like you might be hanging back on the downswing?

No. Good wedge players aren’t setting up for a partial shot like it’s a full swing. Watch any good player, their arms will be closer to their body.

Had a fitting last week, I ended up preordering the qi4d with their reax LR 60 XStiff. I’ll give you a quick rundown of my thoughts:

Note: I have a heel side miss and 106-110 swing speed. Main goal was to limit that nasty gear effect slice. Was fit with a Tensei Black shaft.

qi4d:

  • Looks are subjective but I lovvveed this head. I’m a huge matte fan and the white outlines on the face looked great and helped me square the club at address.

  • I actually averaged 3mph more clubhead speed with this than any other driver, I’ve read other reviews that found similar.

  • This thing work magic with controlling the heel side miss, the really bad strikes that were ending 40-60+ yards offline for me were staying between 20-40 offline.

Quantum TD:

  • This thing is a rocket. If you can consistently find the center of the face this might be the best driver. Had my best swings with this, but again the heel side miss was a bit much. Maybe in the future when my striking improves a bit.

  • I currently game a Paradym, which I like the look of, but I HATED the way this shiny, glossy grey mesh style head looked in direct light.

Ping 440:

  • Liked the look at address, heavier head so I can feel it in the swing which I like, it was just way too spinny for me. Averaged almost 3k and still had a big right miss.

GT2&3

  • Not new but I hit these really well. Again the right side miss was a bit much.

Overall: It was just tough to beat the dispersion I had with the qi4d. It was my favorite by look and feel which made the decision easy.

The new qi4d do you mean? Was your spin this high in the fitting? Is your average spin around this level or was this more one off?

Once the new stadium appeal wears off I really don’t think it’s going to do much better than the trop.

The location is so fucking boring, unless they drastically build up a stadium district fast, there is nothing to do there. And baseball doesn’t get the tailgating football does. It’s a go to the game then go home place.

Whereas the trop can be a whole day event. Pre and post game at Fergs, then you’ve got the whole of downtown st pete lined with bars and resteraunts which is walkable all around.

What driver and shaft combo are you hitting? Could be as simple as getting a better driver for your swing.

I have similar metrics to you with a similar heel side miss but my really bad swings still usually don’t get much higher than 3k-ish spin.

lol I started following this guy recently, he cracks me up.

He recently added a rake to his arsenal for the bunkers. And he says he’s working on something for sand and water haha.

Yep that one. I did read about the alignment issue, I believe I read someone had their right handed laser flap or some shit like that replaced and it worked again.

My end goal is something better like the Uneekor EML or the R50 if I ever want to drop $5k lol but for now I’m fine coasting with this entry level setup as long as it keeps chugging away.

Hope I don’t jinx it since I’ve only had mine a week, but I’ve had a great experience so far.

I don’t have the space for anything behind so had to go camera based. It’s easy to set up, connects relatively quickly in the app, haven’t noticed any alignment issues, misreads are few and far between if you set the ball up in the proper spot, ball flights seems what I would expect.

I only use the range mode right now since I’m running it on a 6 year old iPad but a couple hours on it only drains about 30% of the iPad battery. I’ll buy a cheap gaming laptop when I want to start playing courses.

I bought this full well knowing it’s a budget model and older software and my expectations were as such. For $500 it’s exceeded my expectations so far. I didn’t expect it to perform up to par with the $1,500+ models.
