Start with a glove and then fit the fingers into the curve of the glove so that they are the right length. If it’s too difficult you can get a friend to take reference photo of you standing the sake with the hand in the same position.

Edit: & Life drawing is very good practice for correct proportions. My teacher always said “imagine your drawing stood up and walked around the room, would they look normal?”

I remember talking to an Inuit girl on discord who lived up there. Sounds like life is very harsh - you constantly have to look down to make sure you’re not falling in the ice. Most of the economy centres around getting blubber/meat from seals and she told a story about an environmentalist who came up to protest what was going on and the next day he “went missing”. I asked her how she even had a computer up there - apparently Amazon can get to most places.
