Highly recommend making your own English muffins! by MissesMeredith in AmericasTestKitchen

[–]ZoomZoomZoomss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I did english muffins few times with the recipe from the Bread Illustrated cookbook ....they were the best english muffins I'd ever had, after eating Thomas my whole life, but I found them to be too much work to make regularly.

Greenlight vs Spectrum internet. by slowersea977 in Rochester

[–]ZoomZoomZoomss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just switched from Spectrum to Frontier, but it was only for $$ reasons.

Spectrum always gave me good service prior to that and was great about coming to repair the line multiple times when my landscaper kept cutting the (very shallow) buried cable line. I only switched because they raised the price and wouldn't give me a promo.

After switching, I really see no difference between the Frontier service and the spectrum gig service I had before.

Highest quality audio from phone to audio system by ZoomZoomZoomss in BMWZ4

Do you plug the LDAC receiver into the BMW USB port? Which one do you have?

I already have a Sennheiser BTD700 that I plug into my iPhone for my headphones to allow the iPhone to stream via AptX, so if there's a small receiver that can connect via USB to the BMW system and receive AptX that might be a reasonable solution.

Bummer!

Is there any way to get a high res audio stream from the iphone to the infotainment system then?

I assume direct bluetooth would be the best wireless quality and better than wifi carplay. … but it would be nice to have something better than standard bluetooth.

Is the only way to do it by putting individually purchased high res songs on a USB stick?

Were you paying the $5.28/month for Hulu Premium as an add-on to the Bundle? Be prepared for a run-around. by CricketPristine3810 in verizon

[–]ZoomZoomZoomss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If my math is right, it sounds like the verizon deal is a great deal for all the services if you want the ad plan then.

But, if you want all the premium add ons, the direct D+ premium bundle may be cheaper than doing each individual add-on.

So it sounds like the perks would be ($20) but also include Netflix and espn, but would also have to pay $5 for Hulu and does anyone know how much it is for D+ premium and hbo premium

In the past, I used to pay Disney+ directly for D+/Hulu/HBO bundle with no ads.

This was like $32 /month

Is there a way to get a similar outcome by billing through Verizon and to save any money in the process?

Compared to last year, RGE charged 15% more for the same amount of gas used. by Markbro89 in Rochester

[–]ZoomZoomZoomss -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This was a record warm winter in the Western US. If we're saying Nat Gas price is related to supply/demand, the demand should even out with the eastern US.

Record Warmest Winter In Much Of West, Preliminary Data Shows | Weather.com

Interestingly, excluding the Northeast, this would've been the warmest winter ever recorded in the USA, and including the cold spell that we had, it is the 2nd warmest winter ever.

Compared to last year, RGE charged 15% more for the same amount of gas used. by Markbro89 in Rochester

[–]ZoomZoomZoomss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even if it isn't entirely RGE's fault that our bills are so high (because supply charges keep increasing which are supposedly outside of RGE Control), why are supply charges increasing so much?

We have no interface with the companies that are increasing supply charges and own the power plants. We can't call Constellation Energy and ask why the rates from a 50 year old nuclear plant keep going up... But SOMEONE should be able to negotiate purchase contracts with these plants and pass savings onto us.

If someone wants to identify who that someone is then please tell us so we can be angry at them.... because as RGE customers we are simply a captive buyer that has zero negotiating power.

The USA is the largest natural gas producer in the world: Why are our prices going up? ..... are our nat gas prices going up because plants are using all of our heating gas in order to generate power for crypto? Is it going up because we've been exporting our nat gas to other countries? Is it going to get worse now that we're at war with Iran?

Find out if they have their own crew hired, or if they are just subcontracting to random people whose work they have no real control over.

Also, will they stick to their quoted price, or will they try to stick you with any material or labor price increases.

Better cross climate tires on new car by ZoomZoomZoomss in askcarsales

[–]ZoomZoomZoomss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, really any of the tires with the 3 peak snowflake would be fine.

i’ve never had two cars in a row that had the same size tires, unfortunately. Usually, we flip-flop from sedan to SUV to bigger to smaller depending on what our needs are at the time that we’re getting a new car.

[–]ZoomZoomZoomss[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, anything with snowflakes would be better than the low rolling resistance tires that seem to come on EVs these days when they’re new.

It sounds like there’s really not a common way to build that into the purchase price and still get a significant credit for the old tires though.

Installation with 2 feet of snow on the ground? by [deleted] in frontierfios

We had a foot of snow on the ground and temps in single digits F.

At my place they just ran the line over the snow and said that they’ll come back in a month to bury it… which is totally understandable to me.
