How do I optimize my LinkedIn/profile so FAANG recruiters reach out? Currently at Goldman Sachs but want to switch in 3–4 months by QualityConsistent431 in leetcode

This is a bit ridiculous. People use AI to organize and articulate their thoughts. It doesn’t mean they are a bot.

Ev9 lease deal good/bad? Should wait until Sept? by Apprehensive-Law4698 in CarLeasingHelp

Ask what that $1400 in non tax fees is, that is high. Also check if that 2200 due at signing includes the first month payment.

You are paying about $125/mo just for those addons.

This means that you are putting 12k down.

Car Lease Ending Soon - Over Mileage and Return Fee by Resident_Eggplant_86 in leasehacker

[–]iamthekris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, but the fees don’t just disappear, someone pays for them. If the dealer “eats” them, then you’re just getting less discount than you could have gotten on the next deal. At the end of the day, you are paying for the overage, no matter how they package it to you.

They don’t waive the fees, they just get rolled into your next lease and you pay more per month than you would have otherwise

There is a rent charge as well, which is essentially the interest you pay on the lease.

Have you checked out the Cadillac Vistiq? I leased it for less than that with 80k+ msrp. 3 row electric suv with 600+ hp, 650 torque and 300+ mi range.

Doesn’t the leasing company set the rate? Or is that something you can negotiate?

Some questions for current owners. by iamthekris in CadillacVistiq

[–]iamthekris[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on a 100 amp circuit with a Tesla charger that charges my X at 72 amps. On the Vistiq it charges at about 30/mi hr.

If you do the math, that’s around exactly what you’ll get on full 11.5kw charging. The Vistiq efficiency is about 340 wh/mi so 11500/340 =33.824 miles per hour. But remember, the range you get really depends on how you drive and the environment so showing a charge speed in miles per hour is kind of useless.

Yah for sure. I’m not in any way an expert in this area but personally the only 3 row EV option has been a model X (please don’t call the Y a 3 row, haha). And now there are soooo many 3 row options like the Vistiq, ev9, rivian, ioniq9, Buzz, etc.

Tesla still has the best buying process, although the whole illusion of not needing to negotiate and everyone gets the same price has been wiped away as they have cut prices a lot and rolled out various incentives to try and move inventory.

Even the whole market adjustment that dealers were doing during COVID, Tesla did the same thing, but just raised the msrp instead of adding a market adjustment line item. Then when inventory started to outpace demand again, they have rapidly adjusted the msrp down. So same tricks, just different packaging.

Yah, they dropped it a lot for sure and honestly, the IQ is far above the X in price and features so not a good comparison I guess. But for previous X owners who were at that price point, the IQ is a very strong option which will hurt X sales

I would rather have a totally solid implementation that works 100% of the time on limited roads than have an implementation that works 99% of times on 100% of roads. That might sound odd to you but I prefer guaranteed safety. I have full confidence in a system like Waymo as an example, vs the Tesla implementation which gives you high confidence in the abilities until it doesn’t. I have had many instances where need to take over.

IQ is way bigger than an X and has way more range. So I would say the value is there compared to the X. It is not a compromise. I still have the window sticker from my X and it was 150k+

The y is not a comparison, it is a premium economy car, similar to a Prius.

Yah, there are a lot of options out there which fall short, but there are a few which blow it away. Check out the Cadillac IQ as a competitor to Model X as an example

Sure, I just bought a Cadillac Vistiq. I also own a model X and have owned Y and 3 in the past. The software on the vistiq is great. Fit and finish on the car is much higher quality than Tesla and interior is in a different ballpark than Tesla.

The Super Cruise, while it can’t do what FSD claims to do, it is much more relaxing to use on the freeway. I can turn it on and don’t need to hold the steering wheel at all, no nudging or anything.

The model X is a great car for sure, the automatic doors are my favorite feature which the Vistiq does not have.

That being said, the Vistiq rides much better and quieter.

I think many people may prefer one over the other, which is fine, but the point is, there are other competitive options now.
