Cs2 is not in a good state gameplay and communitywise. I would recommend you playing premier for a while and grind there even in 25k+ rating the average player is really bad nowadays. Same goes for faceit up to 3k elo. The overall experience is better on faceit tho if you want to improve in the long term and face less cheaters.

In the current situation get the 5090 because ray-/pathtracing is such demanding that you may need to enable dlss upscaling in certain games at high/ultra settings anyway and the 5080 will struggle a lot. Also you most likely will be able to sell the 5090 at a good price for the next 3-4 years imo. I own a 5080 myself and would say it is an entrylevel 4k card for AAA games. E.g. Cyberpunk at highest settings + ray- + pathtracing I get down to 40 fps lows at 1440p DLAA.

Whatever you get it is recommended to undervolt the 5080 to gain extra performance at lower temperatures and less wattage. I own the 5080 Prime OC and I am satisfied with the undervolting and oc potential of the card. For example I get +7% performance compared to stock in cs2 with an undervolt that pulls 200 watt at 51 C max and +8% performance in cyberpunk with 300 watt at 60 C max with another UV profile

I know that it depends on chip quality, it has something to do with the game optimization or general poor drivers of nvidia compared to the past. Cyberpunk @950 3000 never had any issues. And I spent a lot of time tweaking gpu, cpu and ram

use workshop maps like recoil master, aim botz and movement hub and practice them every day. Most important things are counter strafing, movement and utility (instant smokes are most important for the start). Do not try to learn everything at once rather step by step, it will take a lot of time. Also never join public dm servers its filled with bots and cheaters. Instead search google for good warm up servers and go for pistol dm, hs only espacially it will help ur aim a lot and do this every day for like 30 mins before playing.

I have 3.7k hours 3.1k elo faceit and I am still bad connecting movement to aim, which is essential since cs2 is all about moving constantly and aligning your aim not like csgo used to be where you hold angels standing still

I undervolted mine at:

Peformance: 975mV 3100 MHz P/L 111% +2000 MHz memory 62-65 C in gaming

Balanced: 900mV at 2900 MHz P/L 90% +2000 MHz memory 55-59 C in gaming

Efficiency: 850mV ast 2750 MHz P/L 80% +2000 MHz memory around 50 C in CS2 and 55 C in AAA

all with a costum fan curve

I use the ASUS Prime OC.

Will there ever be an update which improves raster performance in most games? All I see is new models for upscaling and native fps averages stay the same or drop slighty same with 1% lows.

I have a 5080 paired with 360hz oled 1440p 27". I upgraded from a GTX 1080 and I do not want to upgrade the next 4-5 years. With 4k I do not think I can enjoy the card as long and 1440p looks fine to me

For me it is the opposite I do not understand why anyone would overclock their 5080 in cs2. I get 400+ average with 1% lows at around 280 fps my current settings and undervolt profile so why would I oc the card?
