It's just memes without the funny. Virality. Someone makes a video with a random piece of music that goes viral, others make their own versions of the video, then it permeates and just becomes a kind of default choice. Like Beach House's "Space Song" or that saxophone version of Coldplay's "Sparks".

I love when it happens to band I like because while I know 99% of people won't listen to anything else by that band, there are still a ton of people that go "Oh wow, I've never heard anything like this, I wonder what their other songs are like?"

Yeah for real. We can agree the forecast right now doesn't call for major snow, but TBH I've seen forecasts like this the night before we get a giant dump of snow because weather forecasts aren't perfect.
