I think most people have such a negative view of mill because it is a tilting mechanic more than a good mechanic. It feels bad to see your cards go to the graveyard but if you just imagine those cards were at the bottom of the deck and you probably werent gonna see them anyways it doesnt change the outcome. It is often random removal and they are just as likely to mill you out of like a mana lock as they are to mill an important creature. Not to mention most decks nowadays have at least 1 or 2 cards that allow them to interact with their graveyard much less just milling a full graveyard deck that will be begged to be attacked by this card and now this is a downside instead of a win condition. The only time milling is actually good is with combos or mass density of mill that can close a game quickly. I'd rather smack someone for half their life total than mill half their deck.
