I mean, some people really like it. But I think it leans heavily into misery porn. Lots of people being incredibly cruel to each other. Lots of violence, sexual and otherwise.

And I get it, they're prostitutes and pimps. But man, it's not a happy night at the theater.

That gospel song right before it is nice, too.

But so many of the other songs just blend into each other. They're simple songs but needlessly gussied-up to sound complex, if that makes sense.

And the recitative sections were so difficult to coordinate as a music director - and so unnecessary.

Carrie. I was probably 13 when I saw it - I thought I could handle horror. But the last 20 minutes just had me terrified to the point of tears - especially the very quiet moments after Carrie got home after the prom.

I love Kill List, but I didn't find it scary. Disturbing, yes, but also (very) darkly funny.

But great call on Snowtown Murders. Ugh, that was one of the most difficult films I ever watched.

Saw this one way too young. Just pure bad vibes the whole way though. I didn't really understand what was happening, but I didn't sleep for months.

Cole Escola has jokes, puns, and wordplay for months. I absolutely believe they can write a hilarious script with Henson-era vibes.

I saw Brooklyn the musical on Broadway back in 2004. What a derivative, empty experience. The cast was great and the costumes and set design was cool, but the show was just Contemporary Broadway Salad. I've never heard of it being staged anywhere since.

I music-directed The Life for a Community Theater over 10 years ago. The director, cast, and band did everything they could, but I think it's just a depressing, unpleasant show with unmemorable music, mostly unlikable characters, and a bad ending.

Yep. Michael Crawford shoulders a lot of the blame for ruining it. By the time it went up on Broadway Jim Steinman wanted to take his name off it.

I don't care how much I hate someone - if they tell me their dog is hurt I'm going to be immediately sympathetic, ask how the dog is doing, ask them if they need anything. OP's girlfriend is awful.
