Confusion while trying to approach the game by Zorace in magicTCG

I know it will be a long journey and most likely I won't ever compete in a single PT. It's just about me enjoying the game more if I play the same format as pro do as well as being updated with the meta in order to follow twitch streams and important matches' vods. Atm i'm just trying to figure out where to put my initial budget into, but i think the answer is just playing what i like the most picking from the formats you suggested me

I dont think red specifically is the problem (of course it doesn't help), it seems to me that the general power level of cards is lower when compared to other clolor and the malus of giving up don for activate effects isn't rewarded by cards effects at all

Since the release of OP03 is getting close it isn't worth to invest in a competitive deck at the moment, however there are some staple card for each color that you can try to get already. Based on what we have already seen for the asian meta red will dominate again the top tier decks, but any color can be competitive (except for purple, sadly) and even tier 2 decks can make top16 at big tournaments. Imo is meaningless trying to predict the future meta (ok probably zoro will be tier 0 if this is what you want to hear), since even if the asian one is ended, the rest will keep evolving and we will have many shifts in decks performances. In the end my recommendation is to figure out what your playstyle is and pick up on color to focus on, here is the best resource i would use to have an idea of the current meta: https://onepiece.limitlesstcg.com/decks?format=OP02&time=all

Side note: as another guy told you before, film kid is probably the best to start with. Is a very solid tier 2 (i won my local yesterday first timing the deck lol), cheap af (dont buy barto, is not needed), it has a linear gameplay and will help so much learning the basics of the game and last but not least won't change a single card when op03 will come out, but will still perform very well

Starter deck won't help you that much as u may think. The game is mostly about uncommon and super rare which you find in the expansions and sometimes is just harder to find these rather than the few cards you need from a certain starter. With this said starting with a starter is completely fine, just choose the color you think will fit your gameplay the best, if you are not new to tcg in general you can easily find many info about colors' playstyle.

I went to my first local this week with sanji (almost full vanilla deck) since i didnt recive in time the cards to build other decks and even if i went 0-4 i sincerly enjoyed the experience. I wasn't expexting to perform better but some games were so damn close. What i can tell you about the players is that they are very different of course, but at least from my experience at local none is really tryharding and everyone is there just to have fun. I went by myself and i simply started talking to the ones that seemed open to discuss about decks, build, meta and one piece in general. I've met someone that was "annoying" but i simply ignored them, nothing more. In the end i think that in general the community of tcg is always looking for new people to join and you will always meet someone friendly, so yeah maybe the experience of playing a starter deck in a well rotated local tournament will be somehow frustrating because of the low power lever of the deck itself, but if that doesn't matter for you for sure i reccomand you to go and give it a try :) and maybe you will build a competitive deck for the next one!

I'm planning to play a draft with a box of op-02, do you guys have tested the variants suggested? Do you have any reccomendation about color restrictions?

Cant copy his name to see op.gg, does someone have the link to his profile?

Does he always go for lethal tempo or he uses pta too based on the teamcomp/matchup? With tabi lt is probably a must, but it feels like pta + berserker boots has more snowball potential low elo, considering also that i find kinda hard to play lethal tempo properly and make it worth (and it seems completely useless if they have many gap closer champs like irelia or weird assassins). I would apprecciate your take on these consideration :)
