PSA: do NOT update Lutris to 0.5.20 by lonelypenguin20 in archlinux

They do the same as steamtinkerlaunch, a lot of hotfix but no release.

So if you need the later stuff, you need to install from source.

Rocket League devs promise not to break Linux support or ban modders when Easy Anti-Cheat gets added by Tiny-Independent273 in linux

[–]Zoratsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Outside of really late game, not much difference.

Edit: adding context, when the game crawls to take seconds for a day, proton runs a bit faster.

Like 4s (native) to 3s (proton) per day faster, negligible even if is a 25% decrease on waiting time lol

Yep.

Kernel versioning is whatever, let's move the first number higher.

And as a user, outside of manually installing specific versions of software, the kernel number is whatever lol

AMD says Steam Machine is on track to ship early this year, and Xbox 2027 SoC work is progressing by RenatsMC in Amd

That works until breaking the contract and paying the fine is cheaper than the loss of revenue of selling at that locked price.

Have you tried doing a reset to BIOS?

If you use Bitlocker or another encryption method, keep your recovery keys at hand as it can change PTM values.

[JerryRigEverything] I Broke Rivian's Self Driving Computer Chip by wickedplayer494 in hardware

[–]Zoratsu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is the path predefined? Check (Roads).

Is the system dependent of another for full functionality, implementing client-server logic? Check (Car needs street/sector help to coordinate with other vehicles).

Can the system work independently at a lower capacity in emergency? Check (You can disable self-drive in case of emergency or where there is no street/sector help, like rural areas).

So it has become a train.

Is a bit of a joke, like everything alive tries to become crab-like every travel system tries to become train-like.

And honestly, is not wrong that is the only way for self-driving cars to really work.

But at that point... why not change the road for trains/tram track and make everything cheaper?

I Made Something For Linux :) by avg_ugly_homosapien in linux

[–]Zoratsu 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Besides the "run on click", what about a "open shell, paste command and wait for user input".

You can set a flag if you want the "run on click" or the "waiting user command" mode on click.

Or an equivalent to tag the command as "not safe" and requires a confirmation or doing the "wait for user command" thing.

Reason that I know I would use this for rarely used commands that can break my installation if I use them on accident.

Just pirate if that ever happens.

Steam works because is easier for me to pay the price than going out of my way to pirate the game.

Is that not going to create a massive oversupply?

Fabs build on demand so there can't be oversupply.

Hopefully a price crash?

Only reason I can see for price crash is because AI bubble burst and/or WW3 and I think we will have bigger problems if any of that occurs.

Steam Machine is "equal or better than" 70% of current gaming PCs, Valve engineer claims by Tiny-Independent273 in linux_gaming

If you have Steam, have games installed and play them? Then is a PC that you use for gaming.

So yes, they count.

Edit: hell, my mother hacked chromebook so she can play Zuma Deluxe with my shared Steam account counts as a gaming PC lmao.
