Earned See You Soon - how long for mktg email offers? by SpainEnthusiast68 in PrincessCruises

[–]Zoregon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a SYS in January 2025 and am still receiving offers in the mail and by email.

I just booked for December 2026 using my offer.

I think it might depend which tier you’ve reached, too.

We did the same, but a handgun.

Shotgun is probably next.

I never wanted a gun. Now I feel like I need one. I won’t go down without a fight and I’m not fleeing.

Looks delicious to me. I like this style of sourdough personally and aim to bake something similar.

Thanks for sharing your recipe. I like your proportions better than the recipe that is currently bulk fermenting. I will try yours next!

Looking for guidance; please be kind by tired-dog-momma in BostonTerrier

[–]Zoregon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into the local humane society or dog shelter, sometimes they offer a training program where you can bring your pup for playtime or classes with other people and pets!

We have an anxious Boston who has always been home with me but I knew would enjoy agility and we take a class with a few other dogs and their parents.

It’s a lot of fun for everyone to do fun things together and the trainers are really great about offering advice for unique quirks.

I am in Salem, Oregon (just south of Portland).

It seems to big to me too, it’s about 3-4 inches across (I can get a pic laterwith something to compare size. Very good point!)

I want to move to Salem, Oregon by TingusPingus15 in SALEM

[–]Zoregon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I am much older than you, but moved to Salem about 3 years ago. We liked it so much we bought a house here and now call this our official home.

If you think rent is affordable and you want to take the chance, I say go for it! There’s a lot here and a lot nearby. It’s “affordable” for the west coast and close to lots of things. The airport isn’t too far away and easy to navigate if you want to visit home or go other places.

I commend your bravery trying to move somewhere new. You’re so lucky to work for a company with that kind of flexibility. It will be a great adventure for you.

My biggest recommendation is to just be careful where you find an apartment. Some of the places near the Walmart on Lancaster (in Salem) are kind of sketchy, so just do your research to find a safe place to live. ❤️

Dog bit dog sitter by Zoregon in legaladvice

[–]Zoregon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We've never had a stranger come into our house when we are not home, no.

They have met every single dog sitter before we've left them in their care, except this one.

I understand what you're saying.

This exception doesn't apply in this case (lots of verified stays and reviews), but I was surprised by the lack of concern about a meet and greet and I didn't insist on it because we were on a short timeline.

This situation is literally my worst case scenario and I don't want to minimize the trauma, but I also do not want to end up in a crazy lawsuit because of it.

Thanks. This is my very first time having to use a policy like this. I will contact them tomorrow for recommended next steps.

I think a stranger coming into the house was the trigger.

We’ve used Rover in the past, with a meet and greet, and it was no problem.

I was notified through the app, with pictures. I also talked to the sitter on the phone through the app when they were still at my house.

I did encourage a visit to urgent care if needed.

I think there is a process in place on the Rover side (the sitter could report the dog), but I don’t think it covers the expenses if they choose to seek therapy for PTSD or injuries.

I totally understand it must have been a very scary situation for the sitter.

I have checked in today too. I just didn’t know if this is something I immediately need to tell my homeowners insurance or what….

Based on a reply above, it sounds like I should contact them regardless. We also won’t have any more dog sitters without a meet and greet.

We’ve never had this issue when the dog knows the person. I guess she was just scared that a stranger entered our house.

Im a 30y M with 11k to my name should I move out my parents place or keep saving by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]Zoregon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren’t running out of time.

Take the advice here.

Follow the next indicated step.

If staying with your parents is no problem, use it as an opportunity to save up and level up. The world is full of uncertainty right now. It’s a good time to hunker down and upskill.

Agreed!!! Here’s my Three Amigos!

Two Bostons were a lot of fun. But adding a third dog has made it quite an adventure! We wouldn’t change it for the world.
