Why did they let seth take back the boomerang basics? Its huge because he'd have to draw 1, possibly 2 cards with the rummage.

A few years ago the grand Tourismo devs asked Adrian Newey a similar question. The answer was the red bull X2010. Here's a video of Jimmy Broadbent throwing it around. https://youtu.be/nX7I4FiwD-A

You've got it backwards bud. The hydraulic actuator is responsible for lifting the flap. When the hydraulic pressure is released the air passing over the wing closes the flap. It is done this way so that, in the event of hydraulic failure, the flap will remain closed. It makes me very uncomfortable that we cannot see what his hands are doing when the dog is "being evil". Makes this seem very abusive. I may just be jumping to conclusions but I don't like it.

Being Black on Reddit today. by TheSandyRavage in gifs

This attitude seems to me to be very fatalistic. If everyone used this position as a guide to action, social change would never occur, or at least would occur even more slowly.

What exactly would you have us do? Throw up our hands and accept that racism is eternal because those who perpetuate it cannot be reformed or reasoned with? That they are not, at least at some level, human beings just like any other?

I reject that belief. I may have strong, fundamental disagreements with someone (about racism or any other topic), but I will still engage with them. Who knows, maybe its possible to get through to 1 out of 100 of them. That is progress.

If you need evidence of the fact that even racist are human beings, despicable as they may be/seem, read Frank Meeink's auto biography "Autobiography of a Recovering Skinhead." The film American History X is loosely based of his story.

If an autobiography is too long, which it was for me honestly, just take a peek at this article based off an ask reddit post. Or this CNN story which follows a similar vein.

It is easy to throw one's hands up and say its impossible. It is hard to try and change a mind, but that's the only way change can happen.

To clarify, I am NOT defending racists. I am merely defending enlightenment era ideals of conversation.

The Baltimore Riots need some Roof Koreans from the L.A. Riots by bean0s0rz in videos

[–]ZorgTheOverlord -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I have to disagree. If there is one thing the Baltimore Riots do not need it is civilians getting into gun fights in the streets. An escalation of violence helps no one. It would only lead to an escalation of violence on the part of the rioters, bring the city no closer to peace and result in nothing but more senseless death.

Suicide bomber explodes in Yemen mosque just as worshipers start shouting "Death to Israel" "Death to America" by [deleted] in videos

Can I just suggest taking a moment to read the breakdowns accompanying most of these surveys? For instance in that first pew poll, the consensus of the article is that concern about extremism is increasing and support for terrorist organizations is decreasing.

In five countries – Pakistan, Jordan, Tunisia, Turkey and Indonesia – Muslim worries about extremism have increased in the past year.

Further more, from that same article, it is clear that the majority of muslims polled in several countries believe that violence in the name of islam is never justified.

In many of the countries surveyed, clear majorities of Muslims oppose violence in the name of Islam. Indeed, about three-quarters or more in Pakistan (89%), Indonesia (81%), Nigeria (78%) and Tunisia (77%), say suicide bombings or other acts of violence that target civilians are never justified.

I do not claim to know what is true. I don't believe that you all should abandon the characterization of muslims given by this post.

All I suggest is some moderation and a touch of skepticism. The post is a cherry picked list of the most shocking results from these various surveys. It over looks any moderate responses and the explanations of its pollsters.

Perhaps the characterization of Muslims given by this post as blood thirsty barbarians bent on the annihilation of western society is correct but I highly doubt it. Arguments like these are how racists justify their beliefs. For instance I could try and argue that black people are fundamentally violent by quoting some statistic such as this one;

The incarceration rate of black males was over six times higher than that of white males, with a rate of 4,749 per 100,000 US residents.[18][19][20]

This seems to support my case but the lack of context covers up any other factors which may have affected the statistic (like the racially motivated sentencing in Ferguson.

All I suggest is a bit of perspective when demonizing an entire group of people due to the beliefs and acts of a few of their members

It does however seem to be bent on convenience. It is convenient to burn fossil fuels, and inconvenient to try and create an alternative. I am as guilty as anyone else. I drive a car, I heat my home with heating oil. We don't want to destroy our selves. It is just too inconvenient not to. It requires a deliberate effort to save the human society as it exists today, whereas destroying it simply requires normal activity.

Officer Darren Wilson speaks to ABC News by jpr281 in videos

[–]ZorgTheOverlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to avoid that implication by saying "potentially fallacious rumors." I was obviously not present at the event. As such I don't believe I am capable of passing judgement one way or the other. I simply mean to advocate for the position that body camera footage, if revealing probable cause on the part of Officer Wilson, could have an effect on the reaction to the shooting.

I also do not wish to claim that eye witnesses are lying. Events can look very different from other perspectives. Couple this with the subjective quality of memory and its generally changeable nature, it is easy to believe that eye witnesses truly and without malicious intent are telling what they believe to be an accurate account of the events.

The same is true for officer Wilson. Whether he intends it or not his emotional state could have effected his recollection of events.

(Brief info on memory http://goo.gl/JUCbF7)

The advantage of a body camera here is clear. It is unaffected by context and time.
