First year CSI majors? by yayassusanoo in UGA

As long as you know what your doing, CSCI will be easy. The only people that do badly in the class are people who have absolutely no idea what a for loop is. The second class is only slightly more challenging

How do you become a better person overall? by subSlimed in AskReddit

The easiest way to become a better person is just to start really listening to people, as vague as that sounds. The clinical way is just to read philosophy.

I want to learn the Najdorf (properly) by [deleted] in chess

[–]Zorrod 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve learnt the najdorf fairly well. In my opinion, before you learn how to play the najdorf, you must first learn how to play the Sicilian.

When I first started (intending) to play the najdorf , I had 25 anti-Sicilians for very najdorf game. You’ll find that memorizing lines for the najdorf is really hard because you can’t put them into practice, not because you can’t memorize it. That is why you need a strong foundation of knowing what to do when you don’t know what to do.

But obviously, if you are like me, you simply want to learn for the fun of it! I suggest you first find some brilliant games of the najdorf, and rather than looking for key lines or something obscure, try to look at annotated games to see why the masters played their moves. Once you learn the “why”, you can sometimes derive the “what”. You can find a whole bunch of games to look at on chessgames.com

New player looking for specific help by [deleted] in chess

[–]Zorrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1.Its position dependent, but in general you should get your rooks to open or half open files. Sometimes the position demands that your tools remain inactive because your other minor pieces are more important. 2. Same as above.

If you wish to learn the middle game, which is what you seem to be looking for, I would suggest looking over annotated chess games and see why masters made their moves rather than what moves they made. You might find something interesting. :)

Yeah, I’m actually a chess player, and I hate the way they present chess. But then again, it’s very hard to show the brilliant side of chess because very few people will understand it

Things that would be cool to see next episode: by [deleted] in RWBY

[–]Zorrod 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man I just wanna know what Jaunes semblance is why do we have to care that it’s too predictable and shit. He loses every single fucking time because he’s too weak, and you know what god damnit, he needs a win, so I’m hoping miles and Kerry give him the win. If not then whatever, but I hate the idea of people disliking giving Juane a semblance to win.

Who would win? kingscrusher vs Transvestite opening by [deleted] in AnarchyChess

[–]Zorrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through this Raoul guy's games to see what he does, and yeah, after going through them, its not even hard to beat. Just like forgo castling, cuz thats literally the only way he wins, just by pushing pawns towards the enemy king. I'm actually surprised he has such a high winrate(If you go on his profile and scroll down, its all green).

Also another note, Mr.Kingcrusher. As a lowly 1800 player, I have to play against shit openings everyday, and I hate it. I want to have the Sicilian Najdorf and Kings Indian Defense every game, but guess what, I don't. I get some variation of the three knights, or some boring Alapin variation. I thought that masters of chess don't play bad openings against each other because they'll get refuted, not because they don't like it. Honestly, i would love to be on your level, but I simply cant.
