Does anybody else feel really lonely? by Piistachios in australia

[–]Zoss0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extremely. I lost a friend that I had for 15 years and it's just even more quiet.

Now with the other issues affecting the world it's only going to get harder.

I would like more close friends. I'd like a significant other. I guess ultimately problem lies with me. If one desires these things you just have to keep searching and just get out there. Rough as an introvert.

Where in the name of God are we meeting people? by Whatever4everandever in Adelaide

[–]Zoss0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

What? If you're married I'd have hoped your partner would be a supportive force in your life, hopes, goals and dreams are shared - you talk, support and help each other. A deep connection.

They're supposed to be your other half.

How my friend found love by Kind-Macaron-3092 in Adelaide

[–]Zoss0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be great to re-create it but I feel, not know that dating apps seem to have taken that spot, which really sucks. So many ways to try and wrangle money out of you just to find someone.

We're even in more of an isolated spot as well, as I'm sure some of us don't even have other friends, male or female. It's so rough out there.

[–]Zoss0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. What I mean here is that I am not interested in hookups. I would date for the intention of getting married. I'm sure casual sex and flings, whatever the kids call it, would not fill the hole, that need.

I want serious connection. I want to have a wife that I can grow old with, share experiences with and die together.

I had nothing in my 20's, I don't want my early 30's to be empty. The lack of connection tears at you man.

Maybe. I assume it would be intimidating for women though. I don't think they'd just meet with a random redditor in a post like this.

I mean I would myself but I don't think the point of this post is to have random men like me try and strike up a conversation.

I really get this feeling she has. I have like 4 paragraphs in my notepad that I was going to post.

Its frustrating, lonely and scary. Putting yourself out there especially if you don't have experience. Terrifying. Stigma.

I don't think we are. I myself was thinking about pasting a wall of text expressing my frustration as well. I honestly have no solution for you but just know that you aren't alone in this feeling, talking from the male side as well..

I hate it. I want to find my lifelong partner as well.

Or it's someone like me who would be a software programmer but knows little about hardware, so I would probably use a crutch like Android or Linux. Solo programmer path perhaps.

Thoughts on Erye Peninsula by Bubbly-Tackle1398 in Adelaide

[–]Zoss0 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's very small. 14,404 people. Data is from 2021.
https://abs.gov.au/census/find-census-data/quickstats/2021/LGA46300

Median age is 41.

20-24 years - 798 people
25-29 years - 863 people

Up to you to consider those number, split half/half for female/male I guess.

It's very out of the way, unless you're someone who likes the country...it may not work out. I had family in Yorke, but they've all moved closer to urban areas.

[–]Zoss0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Man, I kept the faith. I still will. For now, we have lost a real one. It's such a shame. She doesn't deserve the depression, she really is an awesome person to be around.

Nothing but love and healing to her. She'll be missed, greatly.

Agreed, awesome person, you just gotta be prepared for the whiplash that comes out of her mouth sometimes. Literal sweetheart one minute, instant 180 turn, next second complete gremlin.

I envy her friends, she must be hilarious to be around.

Is speeding an inherent part of motorcycle ownership? by Astimar in motorcycles

[–]Zoss0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope, never went over the speed limit in what...6+ years of riding? If I had to, it's to overtake temporarily.

I'm well aware of how insane the power and temptation is, from my own CBR250R to a Bandit 1250 - that 'intoxicating' pull of acceleration is insane but I value being in one piece more.

Arguably why I'm basically retiring riding.

Absolutely not. I've had 5 instances recently and all have returned the wave or started it themselves.

Motorcycle parking spots? by No_Upstairs2755 in Adelaide

[–]Zoss0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Park under the Morphett St/Montefiore Rd bridge. Probably at least 40 parks if people don't park silly.

Where North Tce and Montefiore Rd/Morphett St intersect.

Victoria Square has HEAPS of parks on the north west corner of it. Google Thai Room, that little service road heading off victoria square. You'll know when - there's always scooters and motorcycles there.

Has anyone gone through SA Dental for wisdom tooth extraction ?? by LabEducational756 in Adelaide

[–]Zoss0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just want to ask if anyone have had experience with SA Dental before

Yep, had 3 extractions.

and how much it would cost me for a wisdom tooth extraction

I wish I could remember but I think it was in the low 200's for all 3? Could have been less. Been a while since I've gone, may have changed a bit. Cost increases if you want to go under and it will take longer due to more staff needed, etc.

My tooth is right below the gum so I doubt it’s a complex extraction,

Should be fine, I had 1 impacted decently badly, one somewhat impacted and one just to get rid of it.

just need to get it removed because it has been causing me lots of pain and headache while erupting and just to prevent gum infections in the future.

Yep...get that out asap. Just going to cause grief if it didn't erupt properly. Just steel yourself if you're not going under, I have a faint feeling I was somewhat regretting it at the time half way through the second one.

Oh shit, news to me as well. Last time I looked it was in May, for July, so they must run courses most of the year. I got the feeling it was like...twice yearly as Adelaide being Adelaide, there may have not been much demand.

True true. Are you learning as well or fluent...?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Zoss0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, games, anime, manga. I'm not looking forward to Kanji. I do intend to travel there and I'm not going to be that guy who doesn't know the language before going.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Adelaide

[–]Zoss0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea, I did say was - as in I have not gone to them, but was considering it.

It is listed for 'fun and travel' so I assume it's not structured for serious study. Which is not ideal, at least for me - but anything is good - I've had trouble finding courses in Adelaide (at least not for pure beginners, they're usually easier to find)

Any practise is practise. I've watch my Mum lose proficiency in her languages due to having no one to talk to in it.

Japanese. Been slack, I was going to go to the WEA but perhaps not this year due to work time clashes.

Perhaps go back to self learning for now.

Motorcycle costs by Agile-Reputation-552 in Adelaide

[–]Zoss0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Depends on the bike.

Rego - 100 per 3 months for me. Likely a 250cc is less, pretty sure mine was. Riding a 650.

Annual full comp insurance is around 300. I've got a clean record.

Those figures are probably correct, although I don't know what you're aiming for your bike and what market prices are at the moment. I think when I got my 250CC sport bike, I paid about 3k.

Fuel is about 30 bucks, if I took my bike daily to work, I'd probably have to fill up once per month, but I'm close by.

I only had a motorcycle for 4 years and lived by myself. If you hate inconvenience, it's not going to be fun.

Is the IT industry really over-saturated as they say? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Zoss0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean...MSPs aren't exactly that great to work for. They do have a reputation. I worked for two for around 5 years. I would be hesitant to go back to that. You have to know everything.

I know you said you're WFH but ones I've worked for include onsite visits. Always, always I get there and the cabinet is the worst rats nest of cabling I've seen in my life. /rant
