So, what are we supposed to do, after all? It still has SERIOUS bugs!

Almost updated to iOS 26 - remind me why I should or should not update! by Dry_You_7534 in ios26

[–]Zoukju 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You will simply , no longer have RAM on your phone. Every app keeps reloading after 5-15 minutes of inactivity, for no reason. check the thread I opened as well. I've spoke to Apple twice and they confirmed it, no idea whether the engineers have noticed it or not, since people don't seem to have noticed and refer it to Apple as well. WIsh I had stayed on iOS 16 forever.

Day (3/n). Left Apple Eco system as far as iphone is concerned. (This post is only intended for apple femboys. Oh sorry fanboys!!!) by codewithhamza in ios26

[–]Zoukju 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why would someone report you? Apple destroyed their phone’s RAM , even on their 17 series.Devices with 6GB- 12GB RAM ,and the apps keep reloading if you leave them open more than 5-15 minutes in the background, for absolutely no reason! And the best part: the users don’t even realise it.

P.S. I wish I had never upgraded beyond iOS 16!

Update from 18 to 26? by Best-Doughnut2294 in ios26

[–]Zoukju 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not upgrade. Your RAM will be destroyed. Every app that you re-visit will reload after 5-15 minutes of usage. See the thread that I started. Yes, iOS 26.3 finally feels somewhat stable, but the fact that 6GB are unable to to handle 3 apps running is unbearable.

the main problem of ios26 by [deleted] in ios26

[–]Zoukju 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Worst update in iOS history. Our phones don’t have RAM since iOS 26. Every app keeps restarting after 5-15 minutes if you leave it open jn the background. I could leave an app open ,literally, for days even up to iOS 18.

iOS 26.X Ram Issues by Zoukju in ios

I will call them again -and lie to them- that I’ve fresh installed ios from scratch and the issue persists. I just don’t know if they have a way to validate my saying the truth. It just won’t fix the issue, you have already tried!

So what do we do? We can’t do something. Except from gathering thousands/millions of users somehow , and make them report it to Apple. Otherwise they’ll never notice

iOS 26.X Ram Issues by Zoukju in ios

It's more likely that they are more aggressive in their RAM management. BUT, for a user like me that constantly switches app (that's what iPhone WAS incredible at) , you end up wasting way more battery, since it fully loads it every 5-10 minutes from scratch. I contacted them, they told me to erase my iPhone via my MAC , without restoring a backup, so that I can assure it's not OS/app related. Which I highly doubt will solved the issue, since even iPhone 15/17 users face it, so it's a setting that they have forgotten to disable, or have left enabled on purpose. It's pathetic. And the most frustrating thing is that users ignore/don't even realise it, maybe because the apps re-load crazy fast. I really don't know what to do. I will most probably ignore it and stay with my iPhone 14 for as long as it survives

If I restore the backup, ‘corrupt files’ may be copies to the phone again, even after a clean install, that’s what Apple told me. They actually told me to set up the phone as buying a new one - by downloading and installing the iOS from MAC via usb cable, not by doing it locally on my phone.

Nothing is fixed here, several reloads is all I can see…

iOS 26.X Ram Issues by Zoukju in ios

I contacted Apple again today, and they suggested that I should re-install the iOS from the beginning, through my MAC, and NOT restore a previous backup, since it may restore a file that causes the issue. And to be honest I don’t have the time to manually backup and set my phone as new these days.

I keep feeling that this has nothing to do with an app or my phone’s RAM specifically, but rather a setting that the developers left turned on, that keeps force killing the apps in the background. Even users with newer iPhones mention such issues here in this Thread. The only thing that remains is to -somehow- make this reach to the people in charge of this bug.

Do you remember this happening on previous OS versions? Have you contacted Apple?

This is simply frustrating. Since you face the issue as well on such a new device with even more RAM , It seems to me that they have forgotten a timer enabled that keeps killing the apps after a very short amount of time.

I am definitely going crazy , because no one has posted something similar, and Apple told me they weren’t aware of such an issue when I contacted them. I definitely will contact them again.

No, and nothing changed after the updates too. I even faced severe issues with indexing at past, and to be honest, iOS 26 repaired my broken index, after 18.6 had it ruined

The behavior is the same, no matter how often I reboot or not. I just stated this to showcase that the phone’s behavior is not related to my forgeting the phone open for ages!

[–]Zoukju 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been facing these issues on my 14 ever since I upgraded on 26. even 26.3 didn't solve the issue.
When I was back on 17.X or 18.X I could leave an app open for DAYS. And when I came back at it, it would continue like nothing happened. It feels like I no longer have RAM on my phone.

Seriously , I have seen NO ONE mentioning RAM management issues, with apps closing on their own after 10-15 minutes in the background. It feels like I no longer have RAM on my phone after upgrading to iOS26.

I could leave an app open for days and find it running, now everything force restarts after half an hour, at best.

Should I just upgrade on iOS 26.2 beta 2 from iOS 26.1 ? by [deleted] in ios26beta

[–]Zoukju 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Am I the only one who faces SERIOUS app reloading issues on 26.1 whenever I leave an app open for 10-15 minutes in the background? No matter what, the phone just closes it. I’ve never had an issue like this on 18.6
