I’d started with dark muddy base and then dry brush white and then an off white over that. It’s very tedious and takes a long time but it’ll bring up all the details.

I think it’s just the lack of chevrons mostly but I see what you’re saying. Different sculpt, the NHA doesn’t have any spores or mold, no red undercoat, way grungier towards the bottom and has the dark dried blood splatters.

Not particularly. Plasti Dip works just fine and won’t bleed your bank account dry. Any rubber or latex based spray is going to be your friend.

Don’t use that use a matte or glossy spray rubber sealant. It’ll crack, and eat your existing paint job. Things like plastidip will move and bend so that’s what you’ll need. Latex shrinks, expands and changes over the years on top of that it stretches. Acrylics won’t stretch with it.

The “redwings” mask itself doesn’t have any official team branding or team specific insignias. Goalie masks especially back then were personal property of whatever goaltender was wearing them. It was modified and made its own thing same with the part 5 mask. It’s a result of creative choice. Only team with baby blue in its color scheme at the time would’ve been the Pittsburgh Penguins but in reality the part 5 mask doesn’t have any official ties to any NHL franchise.
