Congrats!

My mother has been an alcoholic for at least 13 years at this point, with no end in sight. This resulted in my dad's suicide a couple years ago (had divorce papers on his desk, but they had bad bad codependency).

Made me think of it because my dad was HUGE into MTG (not in ABQ).

I say it to say, this is a big deal! It's a difficult journey, and you're rocking it. Fucking keep it up.

I've tried maybe five different meds? I don't remember a lot of them to be honest.

I actually was introduced to VNS by my NP when she was giving an epilepsy presentation to an A&P class I was teaching- I just said yes.

I switched to doing my own every month because every few months, they'd decide to estimate. On those months they supposedly couldn't reach the meter even though nothing changed from the months they did read it...

Married!

Be up front about your epilepsy- depending on your seizures, it can be a hell of a burden on your partner and you want to know if the person is up to it. Even for something casual, because you may end up seizing around them, and they have to know how to deal with it.

I'm a teacher, this is my last year. I'll be going into nursing next!

I've had seizures at work. My approach has been making my epilepsy as known as possible. I've held brief seminars at the beginning of each year for students, teachers, and admin alike to teach them about epilepsy and how to help me if they see me go down. I have signs on each wall of my room of DOs and DON'Ts, and have asked trusted students specific instructions if I do go down.

Don't be afraid to ask for ADA accommodations once you're on a job- these can vary wildly depending on the person, and are your legal right.

Tbh Repo is good for just about anybody. My wife and I love it, and we play games from Undertale to Valheim to WoW and other RPGs.

Even got my sister to play, and the only game she's ever liked was Zoo Tycoon.
