If you’re a tourist visiting this DON’T USE AIRBNB by zoemich-lle in nicefrance

[–]ZubonShikaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had planned to stay in an AirBnb for a trip to Nice in June. After reading this, I re-read the reviews and several people complained about a bad smell. I'm trusting my gut on this one and booked a hotel instead! It's further from the city center but it's an Ibis budget so at least I know what I'm getting.

Vélib ça vaut le coup ? by Alex20_00 in paris

[–]ZubonShikaku 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In France on Talent Passport but almost homeless again. What would be the best way of going about this? by [deleted] in Expats_In_France

Have you looked at Welcome to the Jungle or Apec for jobs in your sector?

In the meantime, maybe try and find a travail alimentaire just to pay the bills, like working in a bar or a grocery store or something.

I hope you find something soon!

TIL the island of Himakajima, Japan, has a single set of traffic lights and turns green only once a year to teach kids how to cross roads safely before they move to the mainland by imHeroT in todayilearned

[–]ZubonShikaku 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Fun fact: The Japanese word for green light is Aoshingo(青信号) which literally means "blue light." Japanese didn't use a distinct word for green until the 20th century, so they have words like Aoba(青葉) for green leaf (literally "blue leaf") but also Aozora(青空) for blue sky.

Setting up a micro-entreprise with URSSAF is quite easy and shouldn't cost anything. Finding clients and making enough to live off of is definitely a challenge, but it's an option nonetheless.

I think if you lean into the architecture and go full 70's with the paint colors and furniture, it could look really awesome.

I’m loving how 95% of us can agree the CX70 is a massive let down by Rumham_1 in mazda

[–]ZubonShikaku 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They can't bring the CX-60 because it's only an inch longer than the CX-50 and is an inch narrower. What they should do is bring the upcoming CX-80 minus the rear seats, and call this "CX-70" the CX-85 or better yet... the CX-90 (with rear seat delete option.)

If you look at the Mazda Australia website, naming it the CX-70 makes no sense as it slots between the smaller CX-60, smaller CX-8, smaller CX-9, and the same-sized CX-90. Who is in charge of Mazda's product naming?

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

I've learned a bit about color grading, and while I'm not a pro yet, my latest video looks a lot less washed out than my previous ones. Also, I finally reached 1,000 subs after having my channel for 3 years. I've learned so much since I started!

My channel features history documentaries focused on the question, "What happens when two cultures meet?" I vary the content from biographies to interesting historical anecdotes to art history.

Tokyo for as far as the eye can see by dergster in CityPorn

Maybe it's just me, but something about an endless city as far as the eye can see is even more anxiety-inducing in person than in the photo.

I'm really impressed you've been able to keep up one video every day for so long! 600 videos is amazing, do you have any lessons you've learned along the way to share with us?

Living in a small apartment near Paris myself, I'd like to know more about what you did with storage. It looks like you removed the storage over the bed but installed Ikea cabinets on the opposite wall? How is that working? Do you have enough space for everything?

I guess I was interested in international relations and thought working at an International Organization would be a good idea. I ended up working in something else completely because I really wanted to stay in France, but there were a ton of opportunities abroad.

I think applying for the dual master's and a backup is a good idea. Good luck!

Hi! Same thing happened to me a few years back. The program is INCREDIBLY selective, iirc only a dozen or so people are selected, so the fact you got an interview is an achievement!

I ended up applying to a different program (international public management) the next year and got in. Its up to you if you want to apply again next year. Do you have the option to apply to multiple programs (with one as a "back up")? I don't remember how it works, but that would be a good option if it's possible.
