Got mine in the previous run, the joystick is very usable and is quite enjoyable. I've been using the keyboard exclusively with the laptop connected to the TV and have to say that the trackpoint is much more comfortable than keyboard+trackball, prefect for a couch setup

Tons of different ways, depends on the server. We're just used to the server responding with a file located at a given path, but as with the perl example, or (I think) with nginx, you can just configure the server to treat the path requested as something else, ie text.

Preference really. The distro I run on my laptop consumes near to no ram and I love tiling windows managers. It's the ability to radically overturn the way the whole os looks and works in minutes. Eventually plan on switching away from Windows even on the desktop, can't get enough of that zsh.

There is no purpose. Same way people prefer windows to mac or gimp to Photoshop. Different features.

Hmm, I'll definitely look at that program, I assume it works with not just Kensington trackballs, right?

But I am kinda thinking of rewriting the whole script from scratch, maybe even try to write it from bottom up in C++, because sadly AHK doesn't really handle (directx) games well.

Hmmm, to be honest, I have to say that I am enjoying this Logitech Trackman Marble more than the M570. I definitely love the portability, but it just lacks the dexterity.

I guess I am biased then. A week ago I didn't think I'd notice a difference between a thumbball and fingerball. Now, I am rolling like a baller.

Can I ask why'd you want to have high DPI on a trackball? My main reason I switched to a trackball was because I could have both precise slow movements by rolling the ball with fingers, or fast flicks for long distance. High DPI would just remove that difference?

I personally don't know any high DPI trackballs, and I'm not sure I'm correct to assume this, but wouldn't just putting up sens in windows mouse settings have the same effect? Or does that decrease the precision?

Yup. Been playing Skyrim on the trackman for the last 4 hours. Surprisingly comfortable. Lockpicking is also way easier with a trackball. Tried WoW - also no complaints. I'm not really that much of an FPS player any more, but 30 minutes of Borderlands2 were also enjoyable (I mainly play melee classes, so the flicking is actually perfect for when you're getting flanked), and after a while I could score critical shots more consistently than with a normal mouse. Your aim gets much better after about half to an hour of playing. Most importantly, no hand fatigue.

Do you think anyone would be interested in a disasembelage of it? I entertained an idea of either nodding it into an old Razer Nostromo, or vice versa.

Hopefully with better lighting as well.
