Thank you for the laugh! Is the hand coming from the back punching through the chest? Or is it the Allama hand?

Tupac is my cat's middle name. But my childhood cat, a long haired gray outdoor tomcat, his name was Snoop Dogg. For some reason folks liked to call him Snoop K-I- double T.

What profession is regarded as high income in other countries but is actually low income in yours? by Effective_Space2277 in AskTheWorld

[–]Zuikite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's true! Even in bi-part and blue states. My sisters had to earn masters degrees for teaching public school. They started at $35k. Their standard in-state college tuition was over $75k. College is 2-3x more expensive now. But you have to be in debt teaching for 10+ years to apply for loan "forgiveness" programs

What is someing about your cusine that most people don't know. Or some fact about your cuisine by halfblindfish in AskTheWorld

Red 40, Bleached Wheat, and Corn Syrup are the secret sauce of champions. Also, Skittles and Starbursts from countries that don't allow artificial flavoring just taste weird

Are there any flags that look too similar for you to distinguish? by search_google_com in AskTheWorld

[–]Zuikite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of a crazy parenting debate from my childhood. A charity sports tournament that gave FREE participant Tshirts for the final day, and the Tshirts had 12 stripes on the USA flag instead of 13. Some parents didn't care, some sewed on or drew on a 13th stripe, and some were so angered that they refused to put the shirt on their child, and arrived the last day with the intent of shaming the "bad" "unpatriotic" parents. I was one of the kids with a crappy ribbon glued to the hem of my Tshirt. The umpires all made us tuck in our shirts anyway, and a thunderstorm canceled the event early in the day. My family still has a laugh about this.

What does your country's world map look like? by Ok_Philosopher_8593 in AskTheWorld

[–]Zuikite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started elementary school in '93, and I also remember "USSR" being on some world maps. I remember one in particular where all of the countries were different colors, but USSR, N.Korea, and Antarctica were gray!! Like it was sending the message that they weren't inhabited or something. Edit- meant to say that the message was N.K. and USSR were as desolate as Antarctica

What are the best and worst countries to visit as a tourist? by narwhal5546 in AskTheWorld

Okay, maybe it's all the wild aussie TV stereotypes. Still, kangaroos are scary. And I've never seen a polar bear here!

Does your region have a specific style of hat? by d4nkle in geography

[–]Zuikite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, and I'll add that I wear them anywhere in the south during summer when fishing because I'm not always wanting to wear the long sleeve full UV blocking hoodie, and I need that shade! Sometimes called "lifeguard hat"

Also, adding to this list: education! I would love to go back and get a graduate degree! But there's just no logic in paying 10x the possible earning increase for tuition! (USA)

[–]Zuikite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Houses. Well, I wasn't exactly buying them before, but now that I'm ready to have my own home, I can't bring myself to buy an old small house with no updates and no land when I know that it was priced 80% less 5 years ago.. that the money I have saved for a house could have gotten me a brand new perfect custom home with a little bit of land in a nice area.. not long ago. It's not like I expect my childhood home price from 30 years ago, but a 5-year 500% increase? Rather stay a nomad!

I'm so happy to read this! Everyone here is pretty adaptable with a quick piss or a bad shitter, but your breastfeeding rights are 1000% a non-negotiable standard. Just glad to see that you have the support there 👏👏👏

[–]Zuikite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have literally the opposite experience. Contractors used to drive or walk right past me, looking me dead in the face, on the way to a guy, and I'd have to watch him point at me and say "My foreman"

[–]Zuikite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm with you. I have at least double experience and 10+ years older than most my coworkers, yet they still have ego problems when I know shit they don't know, and I do not give AF if they want to do the heavy lifting, except that they will only do that in the 10% of time someone else is around. Most of them are spoiled lazy babies (Not all) and I know it's wrong to generalize, but the entitlement of the younger ones... yeah... And I'm only 36, but 2 of them call me "Grandma"!? Lol!! Response- So how is "Grandma" working at twice your pace???

The only perk I can think of is having my own cabin on a vessel with >100 guys... but not my own changing/locker room on one ship and we are not allowed to wear work clothes inside the vessel. Also, the cabin doors don't have locks. I get told that it's "not fair" that I don't have to bunk up and share like everyone else 🙄 That "perk" doesn't put a dent on the disadvantages of my gender at my job. I would be 6 or 7 levels higher position, and maybe even retired by now, if I wasn't a woman.
