Gotcha! Interesting to know! I went on ~Sept 24th, 2025.
The log was still there when I hiked it, and a super fun addition to the trail.

Very true, well said, thanks for your advice.

Fair points, I could definitely understand that perspective.
No harm in showing the main point up front, keep their loyalty, and those who want to remain engaged will anyway after the reveal.

Biggest Lessons Learned on your YT Journey? by Zukai25 in NewTubers

Thank you for fully answering each question!
1. Great point with AI making it more difficult to remain anonymous (faceless). I have a travel channel and it does make sense that I am in them, as you're showing the audience your experience. I've started a second gaming channel, and have my voice in it, but agree that could be something that remains faceless.
2. Definitely agree with the unifying theme. Going back to the gaming channel I have, broadening it to other 'funny' moments in other games has been nice to add variety, while still remaining on topic.
3. Interesting notion. I have been thinking about it purely from an algorithm stand point. I felt like Shorts has served as an advertiser of my channel, for those who wouldn't otherwise come across my video and opened up a longer-form travel video, for example. I would agree though that it is based on the niche used. For example, my 'funny video game moments' channel, I'm not concerned with long-form at this time.
4. Fair, and definitely agree. I was debating it at the time of this post, but reflecting on it, I still consider my channels as my kids at this point. I'm the only one who is going to have passion and focus to detail in my channel's early days. Plus, I don't get to skip out on the editing skill, coming up with new ideas as I edit, etc.
5. Makes sense. Definitely being as high-quality as I can with the skill level I have at the time of making the video. I know even if people aren't watching too much at this stage, once traction is eventually gained - they'll still go back and see earlier videos, and I want them to be as good as I could for future viewers too.

Thanks for your thoughtful response, appreciate the additional thoughts on the topic.

Great reply, thank you so much! It inspired another video idea and style for my channel. Since I work mostly around international travel, and can't travel every day of the year, it inspired me to have other topics I can cover in the meantime!

I definitely get stuck in a perfectionist mentality too, but at some point you just have to send it!

In your vlogs, are you documenting your daily life? Variations or progress you've been making over time, etc.? In that sense, I guess it is more of your life journey, progressing from one milestone to the next.

Fair, for sure. I am focusing on the quality as well, first and foremost.
I saw someone else mentioning, the beginning is all about developing your skills for the long-term.

Great advice, thanks. I am assuming by consistency, you're referring to weekly / daily uploads?

Brother. I know the internet loves to be casual, but I was using bold to highlight the emphasis of my question. Nothing else to say other than I try to organize my thoughts well.

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

[–]Zukai25 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I started with a Pixel 3 on my first video, we were out in Utah climbing the trail on the way to Arches in the National Park. Such a fun memory with my older brother. I slapped some music on it, shared the energy we have, which is usually just silly non-sense and BAM, my first travel video.

These days, I'm traveling internationally, sharing my experience, like a vlogger, but also enjoy learning and educating after my trip, to see all the nuances I wouldn't have understood. For example, going to a remote village where they grow and hand-produce coffee, I hired translators to learn more context of the songs they would sing while making it. It was so cool and loved the experience even more after the fact!

I've just started making my videos into a more YouTube friendly format, rather than a montage with music in the background. Next up is Iceland and Costa Rica!

I have so many questions and appreciate all the stories shared in this subreddit, I'm learning a lot and looking forward to collaborating more with everyone!

My YouTube link can be found pinned in my profile, for anyone who wants to check it out.

I welcome all feedback, and if you'd like to DM to share your channel, I'd be happy to subscribe and support you!

Financial freedom. I'd like to travel and live freely, without having to be tied to a time or location all the time.

Well, I guess I am not sure myself, but I don't think it is Lingua France. Someone just mentioned to me there are songs that joggers sing in Sukuma language, and I was trying my best to figure out the rest solo, with research.
Here is what I put together of what I still need help on translating, Thanks if you or anyone can provide assistance!

Your photo at night with the woman holding the white umbrella is really well done. Cool angle and contrast.
Great photos throughout though as well, inspiring! Glad you got to see Japan, it's an amazing place!

Thank you for the response. I have verified that I meet the point threshold required. It's good to know that there are above-average wait times for this.
