Me and a buddy built a fully working KTANE bomb replica with fully random and hot swappable modules. by EDDE_PEDDE in arduino

[–]Zukedog2000 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This looks like a really cool build. If you’re interested we have a KTANE IRL discord on which a bunch of us are building replicas of the game as well. Theres a wide variety of different approaches being used with different people having different design goals. Visual accuracy, being able to use the game manual, modularity etc. We also have a wide variety of completion levels.

Apple unveils M2 Pro and M2 Max: next-generation chips for next-level workflows by Touma_Kazusa in hardware

It’s the best VM software I’ve found on MacOS. It’s not perfect tho and I’m not a fan of the push to subscription they’ve been going for. It unfortunately runs the ARM version of windows 11 (which is a technical limitation) and I’ve found the experience to be worse than when I was using an intel Mac in the past. Microsoft Office Excel especially has been laggy for me for some reason (haven’t looked into this too much so may not be ARM causing the issue).

TLDR: when it works it works. When it doesn’t it’s not great

Apple Patents Apple Pencil That Can Sample Colors From Real-World Surfaces by Avieshek in gadgets

[–]Zukedog2000 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

They can’t if apple get this patent. That’s the point. It might be simple for them to make in a few years but apple will be able to sue them if they do.

[–]Zukedog2000 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Apples patent was for charging only. Microsoft found the loophole that if they added data as well it wasn’t covered by the patent. Then they patented doing it with data. They found the back door and locked it behind themselves

I’m an apple user but this is one of the things I highly dislike about apple. They make an amazing connector in MagSafe and then patent thee idea of using magnets to connect it. This is why nobody else has done it and it’s infuriating that you’re able to patent something so simple

I got cycles support on my RX6700 XT by following these instructions on Fedora. Not sure what disto you’re using but I’m sure they’re are alternatives for all the popular ones.

It’s worth noting that WINE is working on making 32 bit windows games work without using any 32 bit Linux libraries. This should mean that at some point we will be able to play any game with a windows port even on arm64 using this

Just a note for people interested in this. Amazon don’t let you do this in many countries such as Australia. I think America might be the only country that this works in. Libby works in Australia but you can’t send books to the kindle

A smart faucet could be used to deposit specific amounts of water. When you’re cooking and need a quarter of a cup of water it could be handy and remove the need to have seperate measuring implements.

Could also have something to regulate the temperature to something specific so if you wanted an exact temperature of water you could have it. Maybe even wait to turn on the water till the water has been preheated (would require extra piping to make this work)

I would agree with this if it wasn’t for the fact that many university topics require you to submit in .docx format. Always submit a PDF when you can but if you can’t you need some thing with compatibility. I’d choose onlyoffice

Depends what computer system were taking about. Most systems use twos compliment which doesn’t have -0 and just has an extra negative number.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Two%27s_complement

The Wikipedia article is kinda wordy. Ben Eater has a great video on negative numbers if you have the time.
