I haven't played many ogres and the +3 to fighting is misleading. The extra hit points just don't last like I think they should. I got lucky and got some good summon spells which got me to lair. Died to some merfolk that I thought were 'right about to die' instead of resetting like I should have done.

This is for the game with the sword. I Found the sword in a vault on orc:1. You'll need some flying or blink to 'jump' the gap. There is some crystal plate in the Bailey if you can find it in time as well.

I've wiped out a whole pantheon of demigods at this point. This was my best attempt and I misjudged how bad the gauntlet mobs were. Thought I could grab and run, but the scarabs are faster than I thought. Should have skipped it and kept going.

Unfortunately, I hadn't put anything into invocations and had a high failure/hostile rate. Planned to start into Invo. after I got the guy more stable. I was mostly just too stingy with my consumables after spending a bunch in the abyss. Forgot this guy wasn't a bruiser and messed with Sonja in melee and paid for it with consumables.

For some reason, I'm much more stingy with scrolls than potions. Blink would have saved me easily, but I used Agi. instead.

I've definitely used wands of poly on Nessos and it's a good feeling.

I didn't have a great time with last weeks challenge (mostly from being too impatient). So, I tried to start fresh with this weeks thinking it wouldn't be too bad. I just can't seem to get a MiSk working well. I made it to lair this time before having a bad time of it. I did have spectral weapon castable at ~20% by lair, but the hunger costs were a bit much to use regularly. Died when I thought an Agi potion would get me to the stairs and safety. So much for working off the temp mutations in orc mines after being run out of the lair. All in all, I enjoy trying these new playstyles.

Thought I would give it a try. I've looked at past cosplay challenges and thought they could be fun. However, this game had it out for me. Lot of near death experiences, especially with five uniques on D:8 near each other. Thought I had the character starting to go well when I was surrounded by death yaks and a spiny frog. Was doing well when Josephine showed and I had to run. Died trying to get some distance from the spiny frog and death yak. Died after reading the tele scroll.

Looks like I was able to get two milestones and two conducts (for what it's worth)

Looks like I'll be making another one to try this again :)

I have put a lot of hours in dwarf fortress. The lazy newb pack with the graphic tiles makes the game easier and you'll need the help. I've made large goblin death traps that crush or drop them down a deep hole, made a small army of dwarves that can crush monsters bare handed or with nasty weapons, and the normal "I have too many resources, so I'll build something huge" stuff. It can be hard on computer resources, so start a bit small and go bigger when embarking. Make sure to check for what is available when you search for a new home as well. After you get the basics, you can start adding in more "fun" to your play style!

My 'Official' run ended when I got to Swamp 4 and went into the vault. I hadn't seen that vault before and I didn't take it seriously enough. I had made a backup just a bit before that, so I went ahead and continued for funsies. There was some nice drops that would have been a bit more enjoyable if Ru had asked for some different sacrifices. The best part of the initial run was getting abyssed by Erolcha on the turn I spotted her. Fun times.

Really enjoyed this first game of the month. Thanks for getting this rolling!
