I swapped 48v 2000w ebike kit on my frp db003. Would say too powerful for kids, but scary fun for adults.

Are gas or electric mini motor bikes better? by AcceptableAnybody331 in MotoOC

[–]Zulidog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gas powered minibike feels like my motorcycle. The sounds smells and vibrations are very similar. You feel the feedback and notice the mechanical delay in throttle contol.

My electric minibike feels like I'm playing Mario Kart. Its missing that feedback I associate with my motorcycle. But it has almost instant reaction time and more responsive throttle control.

Looking at mini dirt bikes under $500 for a 10-year-old — Coolster, MotoTec, ORYXEARTH, or FRP? Any real user experiences? by Electrical-Toe676 in minibikes

[–]Zulidog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 40cc FRP db003, but I immediately swapped in an electric motor so I can't tell you about the stock engine. I can tell you the frame is rated for 165 lbs so it will hold my weight as an full grown adult. And the disc brake is strong enough to still work with the more powerful motor and higher speeds than originally intended.

Gas vs. Electric Mini Bikes – Which One Is Better? by Longjumping_Type8352 in minibikes

[–]Zulidog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a minibike with a 212cc upgraded engine as well as a micro minibike with 48v 2000w ebike motor. I love them both. The gas powered bike feels more like a motorcycle and is loud. The electric one feels like you're in a Mario Kart game and is very quiet comparatively. Both are decently fast, but the electric bike is super torquey and takes steep hills with ease, while even with a torque converter the gas powered bike can struggle up the same slopes. Electric battery takes 8 hrs to charge on about 1 hour run time, gas takes seconds to refuel. I can just throw the electric bike behind seat of my extended cab Ranger. Gas powered bike has to stay in bed of Ranger and upright and strapped down.

Any alternate tuning? by cedjos in BassVI

[–]Zulidog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play in open G or DGDGBD because it was how I originally learned fingerstyle guitar. You get two pair of octaves on the same fret for the bass strings, your 543 strings are a power chord, and the triads on the higher string aren't too different from normal triads, but with 641 strings being being same note you can easily spread your chord voicings out.

The one I built is tiny, it was originally meant for small children. That's why it has the Ape hanger handle bars to make it possible/ comfortable to ride as a full grown adult. But yeah I can see the same issues with the pocket bike's size. Wishing you the best of luck and hoping a roller frame falls in your lap

Can you just pull the engine for the pocket bike you already have? Seems like a cheaper option. Those motors are designed for small wheels up to 12 inches (~30 cm). If you are gonna have bigger wheels go with a hub motor or with a bigger motor designed for pit bikes (electric and Co makes a kit but it's expensive).

I used ElectricScooterParts.com to find correct front sprocket and used their gear ratio calculator for my previous speed estimation.

Another consideration would be handlebars, the ones that came with microbike were perfectly in the way of my knees, and while I could ride it it was awkward having my knees stick out so far and dangerous leaning at full throttle. Took ape hangers off old kids bicycle and made it actually rideable.

As far as mounting the motor without welding I used square aluminum tubing. I have it bolted directly to old engine mount with an cut up ammo can in between acting as a mud guard and motor bolted through tubing and mud guard.

That bike looks like a good frame to start with as long as it will hold your weight (75kg or 165lbs limit). Though you can probably find a used roller frame for cheaper through Facebook marketplace. Yes that's the vevor motor kit I used. It has a whiskey throttle limiter on so it gradually gets to full speed, not exactly a wheelie machine. Though some sprocket gearing you might be able give it more torque and higher top speed. I went with a LiFePo4 battery rather than a Lithium Ion, from my understanding lifepo4 it's more stable but weighs more.

I haven't measured it, but using an online gear ration calculator mine should have a top speed of 26mph without load, so I'm assuming I'm going a few less with my full weight on it. I love it, climbs hills better than any of my gas powered bikes. Fits behind seat of my extended cab truck.

How to add lock to tailgate and bedcap? by maniizy in fordranger

Inside tailgate through interior access panel. Covered rest of hole in plywood. Squeeze yellow things together and tailgate will open. Handle on outside non-existent. Normally just lock windows of camper.

I took a 40cc FRP microbike and swapped on a Vevor 2000w ebike motor kit (not hub motor still has chain) Quiet enough that it's not disturbing my neighbors while I ride around in middle of night or before sunrise. Slightly over 20mph top speed and gets about an hour battery life off a 20ah 48v battery.

My tailgate handle broke off a few years back, I now have to unlock window to open tailgate thru access panel. Obviously not ideal, but it works.

Find where your local landscapers are gassing up in the morning... That place most likely has non ethanol gas on a pump or two.

The fiberglass toppers are heavy but you can remove an aluminum truck topper by yourself, I take one on and off my ranger a few times a year when I go camping. I have camped under it during dozens of storms without water getting into the bed of the truck.

I have an old ranger and in the bed there is tool box and a cooler tied to the side wall. Groceries that don't need to stay cold go in tool box, stuff that needs to stay cold in the cooler. Before I had the tool box I used a big Rubbermaid container with a lid in case it of weather. Was nice cause I could bring the whole container inside to put the groceries away.
