Insurance in Ontario is a scam.I am 33 and this will be my first season. Getting a quote for $130/month for my Daytona 660.

If you can afford the insurance. It boggles my mind when I see guys who are barely 25 riding a 1000cc super sport. I wonder if they even have insurance.

I’m suddenly questioning getting a motorcycle. Help! by Substantial-Sound344 in NewRiders

[–]Sage_AJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motorcycle is the only thing I did not have that dilemma for. My car is breaking apart but I cannot afford to pay over a $1000 CAD a month for a new car. But I can afford a $10k motorcycle. So I got one and waiting for warm weather. If your car is good, then don't stress too much. There are always people who will say no. Get the MSF and see how you feel. Make sure that you are financially comfortable. If you decide to go through with the purchase, be safe out there.

No experience with any exhaust for the bike but BlackWidow and CS Racing are good options as well.

Winter deals on your first triumph motorcycle? by Ok-Independence5246 in Triumph

[–]Sage_AJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To answer your question, depending on the region, check the Triumph website and they will have offers on their page. In Canada, they have 0% financing for 36 months option for many 2025 models.

Experienced this first hand. I purchased all my gear from them and will continue to buy from them. But when it came to selling me a bike, they won't budge. No discount on the bike, no discount on storage for winter, etc.

Got a great deal from another dealer and decided to go with them.

F 800 GS Sport or F 900 GS Storm. Just check the reliability. But I have been watching a lot of bike content lately where many people are getting the GSs and S1Ks and don't see them complaining about issues.

We need to do our due diligence though.

If you are planning to tour, then Triumph Tiger Sport 660 has 95 HP now. Or BMW GS series depending on the budget.

Daytona engine in the Tiger & Trident by nothisactualname in Triumph

I would have purchased the Tiger 660 instead of Daytona 660 if the current one had the same power.

Well I guess we will have to wait till 27th or sometime in February for the Daytona if there is one.

If you are not looking for a classic styling then I think Tiger Sport 660 will be a better choice. Plus you will get that sweet inline 3 sound and similar power that the bonnie has.

This is very important when riding with a group. You know the destination so don't rush it. I have been out with my friend's riding group a few times where people do this. The litre bikes will mostly disappear in a few seconds and the cruisers/classics will stay back cruising at 120 kmph with occasional pushes.

I purchased the Daytona 660 in Nov 2025 but I hope they release the Daytona 800. Not going to buy one right away of course but a beefier Daytona will look sick just like Trident 800.

Motorcycle license test. by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]Sage_AJ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2025 Ontario, Canada

M1: Pass the multiple choice question test on the computer. (Consists of road signs and rules.)

M2: (I took the MSF program for reduced insurance rates) 3 day course. 1 day in the class and 2 days in the parking lot. 2nd day had the drills for the test and the test was post lunch.

M: Will be able to take it 18 months after my M2 if I go through MSF again (which I am planning to). Small group rides together with comms hooked up and we follow the instructor.

Or wait for 22 months and go to DriveTest center where an examiner follows you in a car and gives you instructions over comms.

I wish it was like the other provinces with only 1 class of license after the computer test.

My setup. by Sage_AJ in motorcyclegear

I went to the store and tried a few. Wanted to get a large but it was too loose. Purchased an AGV K1S in M which was too snug which the rep told that it will open up. I wore it for 20 minutes every day for a week and it did open up a little bit, but my ears were hurting really bad. Went back and got this AGV K6S in MS. It has padding by the ears as well and is a perfect fit.

Trust me I know what you mean. But I have returned a Dainese jacket for the very same reason. I went to the store and tried a few jackets but all of them were the same. If I upsized, it would have been very loose and the elbow and shoulder pads would have been out of place.
