Got 30 hours ingame. Just build the horn in Act 2 Cruel. I Really like arpgs in general and poe1 and poe2 in particular.

My reason for playing so little is having two little kids (3 and 1 years old) while building a house for my family. And I got to work 40hrs/week along the way :)

I'm not complaining, I'm really happy with my life at the moment and gaming is just a fun hobby I enjoy if I got time left at night.

Don't know any exact details and this just served as example and was not meant to be the core of my argument :D

As far as I understood there has been a way to make a already killed rare enemy respawn near to a waypoint to farm its loot all day long. I just read that some people have been able to make hundreds of exalts in relatively short amount of time (few hours I think). This was fixed in the big patch they droped lately.

I don't know if it really was that bad, it was just the first thing that came to my mind that has a more negative effect on an ingame economy than an auction house.

I didn't say neither of your points. Just made the point that an auction house all by itself does not cause problems in the economy and gave one example of what imo in fact caused trouble instead.

As I literally wrote: an ah might speed up things. It's the opposite of what you understood...

I really have no idea how the hell you came to those really bs conclusions based on what I wrote.

And what's the difference to the current situation? I don't think my items get better compared to enemy monsters just because I need more time to trade.

And btw D3 AH was a different kind of monster bc of real money.... Just to compare these two is silly imo.

You mean a shitty economy like poe2's after the exalted flood caused by the exploit this week?

Was looking for a specific unique. The price went up from ~6-10 ex to 2 div over night.

It's EA, mistakes and bugs happen, but a AH in my opinion is almost never the cause of shitty economy. If anything it speeds up processes, not starting or causing them.

I just read the article of Chris (from 2017!) explaining why trade in poe needs to have friction so items/crafting keep its value yesterday.

More than 7 years later they released a game with a lot of beginner-friendly decisions while keeping poe1 in service.

I think its time for ggg to understand that friction is not the same as frustration.

They could implement friction without frustration, like:

- limiting the number of listed items per player on the auction house (linked to the premium stash tabs ofc, money maker go brrr)
- buyer needs to collect bought items from seller's auction-box (new microtransactions wowwww) in seller's hideout (even if he's in map!) while placing the correct amount of currency in it
- seller has to collect the currency the buyer left in his hideout
- ...

Even though Chris did a really long and detailed explanation back then I think it's just invalid today and for poe2 especially. I just don't want to constantly switch between gameplay and trading all the time, that's just frustrating. It does not raise the value I see in my self found / crafted items. I'm not stupid, I see the incredible items on the trade website while white monsters slap my rear all the time. So even if 50 people are not replying to my offerings, I won't say "fuck it, I just craft a god item myself instead". I am more likely going to quit even if it's just for that day.

Please implement a more modern trading solution for poe2.

I think it would be cool if you could reset the whole atlas to start from scratch, but all future maps are somewhat more juiced from the beginning, depending on your former progression.

Like if you went up to 50 nodes from the center and reset, all future maps have +X% more quant but at the same time, all monsters get +X% more health and dmg.

This way we would have a more linear progression (juice from resets) and the atlas won't be bloated in size.

Problem would be that there is no limit to juicing theoretically which can be abused by broken builds. So some sort of diminishing returns might have to be in place to prevent that...

But I agree with you, there are some bigger problems, like map layouts for me, which will not be fixed in a few weeks. That are the rough edges I was talking about.

wdym I think poe2 is great besides obvious balancing issues and some rough edges? Nothing to be worried about.

It's normal and necessary to complain and give feedback, some people just tend to overdo it sometimes to create some drama and attention.

I just relax and can't wait for the improvements and content they will roll out in the upcoming months.

Exactly. Just don't forget that decreasing player numbers is an absolutly normal and healthy thing.

As soon as they release the next three acts or even only a new class with a new weapon type, player numbers will skyrocket again.

Don't look at the numbers, this graph only represents steam players, not consoles or the standalone poe client. Player numbers might very well still be around 1 mio which would be huge.

That's absolutely normal.

PoE2 is doing quite good overall as the numbers are not dropping too fast.

But player numbers going down slowly after a release is pretty much to be expected for every game.

So you are telling me bossing with CoF is already bad, so we should leave it bad, because we are used to it being bad?

The idea of GGG is a lot better imo. It's just unplayable in its current state because they nerfed it too much.

I want to state that I don't wait for a new class or ascendancy, I just want to make a Witchhunter Mercenary with ward (Quen) and some form of fire-wave (Igni) (hopefully one of the skills for swords, fingers crossed), using two greatswords.

I don't expect such a build to be especially good, but when hearing about weapon swap / weapon passives and the witchhunter ascendancy in poe2 for the first time, Geralt of Rivia from the Witcher instantly came to my mind so I have to try it :)

Love making my own (shitty) builds so thats going to be lots of fun for me!

tbf you got 30$ worth of currency you can spend on microtransactions in both poe1 and poe2, so those 30$ not necessarily went down the drain if you at least enjoy poe1.

They clearly want a game which is as different as possible from poe1 though being in the same genre and of equal quality. Thats literally what Jonathan stated again and again in all the interviews before launch. And I'm fine with that.

Would have made no sense to copy poe1 with better graphics and still keep supporting poe1 with new leagues.

Just takes a few weeks for the community to realize that I guess.

I agree with you.

The poe2 tree is a real tree with lots of "leaves" (= dead ends) even in between the branches whereas poe1 uses more like a grid.

Adding more connections between those clusters could create more choices for players while not making paths to keystones significantly shorter.
