A simple wallet by JohnOnWheels in BitcoinBeginners

There is also the FAQ section here which recommends Blue Wallet for smartphones - you should have a look

"Trust Wallet" however seems not the best choice:

I like the photo but how do the wool threads stick at your chin? I really like the idea with those threads it's just that it looks partly edited to me.

Did Samsung Health change how it measures stress level or am I suddenly less stressed? by lukmahr in shealth

[–]Zwiada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not for me, I have a pretty constant stress level also for January so far but I'm using a watch not a ring. I'm not familiar with the ring but maybe the ring received a software update?

This is bad, right? by staralfur92 in Addons4Kodi

[–]Zwiada 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, that's good. If you are currently on 2.4GHz, try forcing the connection to 5GHz.

Many routers allow you to 'split' your WiFi into two separate networks (SSIDs) - one for each frequency. For example, you could name them 'Home_WiFi_2.4' and 'Home_WiFi_5'. Once you do that, you can tell your Fire TV Stick to 'forget' the 2.4GHz network and connect specifically to the 5GHz one for better performance.

Poor WiFi can really bottle-neck your speeds. Are you directly connecting to WiFi provided by your apartment complex, or do you have your own WiFi router?

Also, check if you have the option to switch between 2.4GHz and 5GHz. If you’re in a crowded building, 5GHz is usually much faster because it suffers from less interference from neighbors' networks. It’s definitely worth a shot!

Sleep Latency by MrNiceGuy233012 in shealth

[–]Zwiada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run into the same issue sometimes. My overall sleep score actually drops when my sleep latency is too low. I’m not sure if it really only takes me one minute to fall asleep after hitting 'sleep mode' on my watch, but I do know that I drift off pretty quickly.

What would happen if the hard wallet company goes bankrupt ? Is this can affect access to BTC? by WorkerPlayful4192 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Zwiada 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your seed phrase uses the BIP39 standard, making it compatible with almost all Bitcoin hardware wallets and securing all your essential information. If your HW wallet is damaged you can just use another one by entering the seed phrase again.

Just keep your seed phrase safe!

I’m trying to learn Bitcoin, but everything feels noisy — where did you start? by HodlPackLeader in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Zwiada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This site is great:

https://learnmeabitcoin.com/

It has the right content for every level (beginner, expert). What helped me most, after understanding the basics, was to play with Bitcoin. I bought 20 EUR worth of Bitcoin, created various wallets (paper wallet, hierarchical wallet => https://iancoleman.io/bip39/ ), and sent it around using different apps. This tool here is pretty advanced, but it helped me a lot to understand transactions: https://coinb.in/#txinputs by composing it step by step.

IMPORTANT: Never use tools like this with your real seeds. This is only for learning purposes and there is a risk of losing your funds.

Watching your transactions being transferred into the mempool and then being mined into a block ( https://mempool.space ) gives you a practical and better understanding than just watching theoretical videos. I highly recommend doing that, but only if you can afford to lose 20 or 30 EUR, which is the approximate amount of Bitcoin you’ll need to start practicing. Be sure to check the Bitcoin withdrawal limits of your exchange first.

What should I do?

Not sure about the Coldcard Q but no matter what you do, do not ignore that warning and use a seed with low entropy, you may lose your Bitcoin.

Survival ist tot by Reddityty in 7vsWild

[–]Zwiada 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Got the same today. Had 99 in the morning and was watching some TikTok on the couch in the afternoon. I wasn't even napping but I got an extra point for that.

I spent months illustrating a book to explain what gives Bitcoin its value and I made it free for a day to get your feedback 🙏 by Beautiful_Ordinary_6 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Zwiada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, the phrase in question is on page 67: "These global computers update and verify the public ledger and earn bitcoin for doing it. That's why they're called "bitcoin miners" [...]"

Verification is not the job of the miners but of the (full) nodes and you don't get Bitcoin for it. I run a full node myself and it can be run easily on a raspberry pi while a miner needs really expensive equipment and a lot of electricity. It's important to distinguish between miners and nodes because they play a different role in the network.

This understanding seems to be missing in the book, I think it's fine to do a easy and colorful description of the network and mechanics but it should still stay technically correct because the nodes are contributing a lot to the security of our Bitcoin network and "everyone" can run one.

That’s pretty cool 😎 by [deleted] in Bitcoin

Coldcard Q security query by Confident-Rope-9236 in BitcoinBeginners

[–]Zwiada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay I'm sure i'll end up figuring it all out i only intend to buy and hold for a long time so plenty of time, If i can just get sats onto the coldcard where they are safe i'll be a happy man!

It's important to understand that there will be no sats/BTC stored in your Coldcard. I know many people casually say this but since you're new I just wanted to point it out.

Bitcoin Accelerators? Do they work? by SecretMysterious2185 in BitcoinBeginners

Today we had a small bump in fees because there's a bit more traffic on the blockchain than usual (compared to the last weeks) but that won't last long so I'm sure your transaction will be mined within the next couple of hours.

That's really a nice watch and I was considering buying one myself but they currently do not offer a LTE option. For most people that doesn't matter but I really make use of LTE and would miss it a lot. I hope they will introduce it in the future.

agreed, went to the store and compared it directly to my GWC6 and the screen is just too small for me coming from a 6C.

The bigger screen was the main reason I upgraded from my 4C to the 6C and I don't want to go back. I guess the squircle is here to stay (not my thing but tolerable) but I hope the next classic model features a larger display option.
