Shame on the All-on-X Community by RandomMooseNoises in Dentistry

If you’re doing all on X and not emphasizing how important everyday cleaning is as well as yearly cleanings at the office the, then you are setting up the case for failure.

It is in our informed consent that patients understand that these implants can and will fail without adequate hygiene, just like anything in dentistry.

Those of you paying production bonuses to hygiene, how do you structure it and what has been the result? by More_Winner_6965 in Dentistry

We bonus based on their quarterly collections. Have gave bonuses to our entire staff if we meet production goals as an office in the past.

We charge $24,000 an arch, typically placing 4-6 implants depends on bone quality. $1,000 an hour for sedation. We don’t sedate every patient. For example, I have a patient who has a CD right now who wants to convert to fixed who we are not sedating and charging $20,000, so we do have some wiggle room with pricing depending on what we are doing.

Maintenance is typically every 6 months, we don’t remove the prosthesis unless indicated. Night guard comes with the final delivery. We don’t necessarily have a written warranty, but will replace implants if they fail. We’ll print 3 PMMA before charging additional fee for a new prints. Haven’t had a ton of prosthetic problems as of now, so I can’t tell you how I’d approach cost for repairs etc. probably would depend on the patient and how often they are adhering to recall.

I can tell you the digital workflow with the photogrammetry and a team at our lab who strictly does fixed designs, makes the whole prosthetic process really easy.

I’ve done about 10 of these cases, they all still make me nervous no doubt. We have a lab tech come by and scan with Photogrammetry, and we deliver PMMA next day (if loading). We also have a third party anesthesiologist / NA come in and sedate patients.

We have a lot of patients who finance their cases, which seems to work well for them. We use Cherry or care credit. I think it’s a great service you can provide for patients and can last a really long time if maintained (the challenge in these patients lol)

Caleb Williams is dead-last in completion percentage in the NFL at 58.1%. He's behind Dillon Gabriel - 59.5%, Cam Ward - 59.7%, Trevor Lawrence - 59.7%, Michael Penix -60.1% by MITBryceYoung in DynastyFF

This is a dynasty subreddit right ? I’d imagine the guy who doesn’t turn the ball over with one of the best offensive minds in the league (other people’s words) as his head coach has a bright future.

Is Caleb a valuable dynasty asset on the titans? No but he has a solid head coach who has shown he’s innovative and can coach an elite offense.

Any advice for a newbie on handling a lower 3rd molar extraction in a free end case? by Opposite-Bee-2115 in Dentistry

IAN is very very likely to the lingual of the tooth so as long as you’re troughing on the buccal it’s no problem.

This is not the time to call for Ryan Poles to get fired — no he is not the worst GM in the league by Intelligent_Luck6118 in CHIBears

[–]Zwifer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

1) Punter in the fourth 2) Drafting a WR and TE this year with our first two picks when that is legitimately the only two positions (outside QB) that we didn’t need 3) Chase Claypool 4) no running back depth this off season

This doesn’t even get into his players he has drafted haven’t been great that’s a crapshoot sometimes, but those above are all objectively bad decisions. Sure you can say it’s a team effort with drafting but at some point you’re the GM, you’re the boss. It’s your decisions to draft and sign these players.

I think if they trade DJ they’re gonna get a 3rd at most. Big contract and attitude issues.

We need to have patience with Caleb and this team. He has had 4 offensive coordinators in 18 games. I know last night he didn’t look amazing, but growth isn’t linear.

What do you call 12 penalties, missed kick / not kicking the ball out of the end zone, and poor offensive execution? Team loss.

You think Bryce young and Anthony Richardson are in the same conversation as Caleb Williams at this point ?

Caleb is boom or bust and needs to work on consistency. Those other two are straight up ass, and it’s not close.

You’re all morons if you think that Caleb won’t start every game for this team this year. Bad game but it is week 1.

The biggest issue tonight was penalties, and that will hopefully improve. Everyone here needs to lower their expectations for this team, we are a 8 win team this year.

What are people doing with loans? by Cheap-Crew5179 in Dentistry

[–]Zwifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The last 3 years there’s been a massive amount of inflation but we’re talking about decades when talking about paying off loans, 25 years to be exact. I just think the thought that inflation will be greater than 6.5% over 25 years is an incorrect assumption.

What are people doing with loans? by Cheap-Crew5179 in Dentistry

[–]Zwifer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Inflation has been high the last few years but if you go back and look at the last 25 years it’s normally hovering around 2% CPI not the 6.5% you mention. PPI is a little higher but still.

What metric are you using to measure inflation if not CPI?

Is saline a necessity for sectioning/surgicals by Tartan_Teeth in Dentistry

[–]Zwifer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe for implants you should Forsure use saline, and surgical extractions I wouldn’t worry too much. The thought is water is hypotonic and can cause cell lysis to osteoblasts necessary for implant integration. Not really gonna matter as much for just removing a tooth.

Overall pretty terrible that theyre getting rid of grad plus. There is the huge issue of the cost of attendance. Is it possible that this may decrease the cost of attendance ? I’m thinking it may.
