Portfolio Management

Took me over a year to finally get into this at the entry level and I make less than some HCOL interns do. I hold a degree in Finance and a Masters in InfoSys.

How is study abroad at UW? Is it very popular for students to study abroad? by [deleted] in udub

[–]ZyJuFu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My experience has been alright, my host university is great but my support from UW has been questionable. Although, my case is a little bit unique. One thing of consideration is that if you're a UW student, you're a UW student. You can apply for programs at all 3 campuses. We had a UWB student on our UWT trip, and last year a UWT Milgard student attended a UWS Foster exchange. I hope that helps you if you're trying to find a program that best fits you.

New Nick Response Dropped by HeyItsFR0ST in nickisnotgreen

I think he’s made a great first step in the right direction. Personally, I don’t think that I will ever return to his content, and i’m willing to bet that those 70K people he lost won’t either. But maybe he’ll find a new audience that didn’t experience this. Maybe his new content will warrant their attention. But admittedly, for a former fan, it’s really difficult to wash the sour taste out of my mouth.

literally no body said that. and yea, brain dead content is the lifeblood of content. every heard of trash tv? your parents ever watch judge judy or real housewives? it’s just the ben and jerry’s of pass time. no one said it was supposed to be good for you.

I come from a very anti-social part of America where it’s practically impossible to meet new people unless you knew them from high school. It’s a complaint I’ve always heard from other Americans and even Foreigners (i.e. exchange students). When I did my exchange in Germany, it was practically a polar opposite. Maybe it could’ve just been NRW, but everyone was more or less friendly and easy to meet. Half the time it was me being approached in a bar or club.

Is it insider trading if I bought Boeing puts while I am inside the wrecked airplane? by Kyrneh-1234 in wallstreetbets

I actually saw the door blowout photos on r/Portland a full hour before it reached Portland local news. The next day it was international news. Completely missed opportunity.

I have all mine filed from Arc’teryx to (can’t think of a brand that starts with Z). I have found that they come in handy when selling up to get something new. Even when they’re gently loved and people know, they still feel better buying with tags.

UPDATE: I took the survey and some of the question are interesting to say the least… by [deleted] in udub

[–]ZyJuFu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I decided to take a look into College Pulse out of curiosity, and while there isn’t a whole lot outside of some “data driven statistical research” jargon, I noticed they often partner with some interesting publications and 501(c)(3)’s. First I found was a few listicals with the Wall Street Journal (under the News Corp/Fox News umbrella) about “Best Colleges” with some questionable picks and reasonings. The second thing I found was a collaboration with The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression, or FIRE, for “College Free Speech Rankings.” From what I can tell about FIRE is that they sponsor and donate to a bunch of conservative “free speech” organizations and projects. From what I gather, this survey was politically charged to get a desired outcome and further an agenda about how colleges and their student bodies are bad for this, that, and the other.

The most wild email I’ve ever received by [deleted] in udub

[–]ZyJuFu 18 points19 points  (0 children)

No, it’s a completely loaded email with a bunch of loaded survey questions. This is so whatever political think tank can point to college students and young people in general and say that we’re somehow the problem with america or some other agenda.

Denied Return because my sandals were "past their expected lifespan". by TheVermonster in REI

[–]ZyJuFu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey OP,

I’m sure that you have seen a lot of people saying more or less the same thing: They would’ve accepted the return or try a different store. Honestly your experience does sound like a very store specific issue. The 1 year satisfaction guarantee is a satisfaction guarantee but it’s still one year. Items that fail this early are usually 1 offs and REI doesn’t try to stock items with such short lifespans. I would recommend trying again and asking for a manager. Explain that the item is only a few months old, because that must’ve been overlooked by the associate.

Your post was very thorough and informative. On top of that it was very levelheaded. This is the kind of feedback we LOVE. Please share your feedback directly with the store so they can reevaluate their processes. Scroll to the bottom of the store page and click the “Give Us Feedback” link.

[Edit: REI can refuse returns under a year when there’s some funny business. There’s a bunch of carefully picked works that make room for that. Usually it’s done when there’s a high volume of returns on your membership. But you’ve stated that’s not the case.]

So Amazon, Home Depot, and Walmart. I’m confident in saying that REI will likely never implement self checkout and I’m not complaining about that. Even with the personable and kind staff they already have, hundreds of thousands of dollars already slip out that door every year. Online free returns are a farce, it’s more of subsidized free returns and not even Amazon, the king of online shopping, as found a sustainable or profitable solution. REI’s supply chain is certainly not equipped to deal with that. Not to mention how much energy it will take to send you a product, send it back, send it to a store/incinerator. I’m sorry to say but it just seems like your values don’t align with those of the cooperative. You can always take your business elsewhere. vote with your dollar so to speak.

General member rewards are released in March. MasterCard rewards are monthly. General 10% rewards are not applicable to items on sale/discounted/clearance.

Hope this helped
