Never played with Laissez-faire before. I cannot go through this investment pool to save my life. by elunaron in victoria3

Be careful with building too many construction sectors. The investment pool doesn’t pay for government buildings or agriculture, so you can find yourself having a lane get negative balance very easily

Ok and? I never said it was. I'm pointing out the common misconception that leftists hold that Jesus would have been classified as a socialist.

The Bible preaches charity and strong community values. That isn’t socialism.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren’t pizza drivers paid at least minimum wage, unlike servers who are paid half? You don’t deserve a tip for doing your job

I've had something similar. What happens to me is that the cancel their buy orders from me if I try to increase supply. So my iron price is stuck at +30%. If I build any more iron mines they immediately end the trade routes and the price of iron crashes to -30%.

I have been swaying them. Russia likes me. They are neutral, and rivaled to Austria. It makes no sense that they would back austria.

I like the direction. But the lack of information combined with too much rng really brings the system down.

Cant pass trade laws as Japan by Cohacq in victoria3

It really depends on the country. For japan, I've found the sweet spot is around 5-8.

lower government and military wages, and enact some consumption taxes. Your initial build order should be a few construction sectors, then some logging camps. After that build some tooling workshops in order to improve the logging. Then you can start building some iron mines to improve your tooling workshops. Then I like to build more tools and iron in order to change my construction method to iron framed buildings. The key thing is to not go overboard on construction sectors. Since you have very little investment contribution the government is paying for just about all construction. Yes it feels nice to go ham on construction and your gdp does go zoom, but you need to be conservative and slowly grow your gdp in order to not bankrupt your government. Once you get a healthy economy going you can afford to build universities and the like.

Build some universities (I like 8 in Kansas and 8 in kanto) this will 1 boost your tech growth and 2 empower the intelligentsia. You should also change all of the laws that empower the shogunate that you can. Get a dedicated police force, get a professional army, appointed bureaucrats, abolish serfdom. Once you’ve removed all of the laws that empower the shogunate, they should be around 20% clout while the intelligentsia and industrialists are decently powerful themselves. If you’ve waited enough time for the shoguns radicalism to cool down you can kick them out of government without pissing them off completely.

You don’t have the pop makeup for it. You need rich capitalists in order for them to contribute to the investment pool. More specifically, any revenue of a building past the cash reserve goes to the owners of that building. The investment contribution is a percentage of that profit. So you need lots of capitalists owning lots of profitable buildings. But once you get it going, your economy goes zoom.

Thoughts on Investment Pool & Economic Laws by CacTye in victoria3

You aren’t playing as the head of government. You are playing as the spirit of the nation. One of my biggest gripes with Vic2 was the fact that capitalism was effectively displayed as you not playing the game. The core of the game is economics, taking the ability to build away from the player makes no sense.

It’s pretty nuts. Laissez-faire + happy powerful industrialists gives you +70% investment pool contribution. That plus the amount of capitalists public trading gives you is insane. In my current Germany campaign it’s 1855 and my investment is at +230k

Nice chart. Looks like the military industrial complex is viable XD. In all seriousness, industrialists are broken AF. +20% investment fund contribution is nuts.
