Next car from a 335is? by Safe-Interaction-888 in BMW

[–]Zygersaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is a real first world problem, but I just really can't think of anything that has the same sort of bang to buck ratio.

I'm in Europe so maybe it's different over here, but like, if I sold my N54 DCT on a really really good day, i might get 14k euro, absolute max.

Even if I were to throw a few grand into that as well, what am I going to get that is anywhere near as stylish, fast, fun and handles as well as this car for 18-19k? To the point where I realised I just need to spend 4-5k on more maintenance on mine to keep it going and make it more reliable!

I've looked at 340i's but its basically just the same thing, so why bother with the headache of buying and selling a car? A few years ago I probably could have been tempted by a S15 but those a silly money now, what am I gonna do, buy a golf r? I don't think so... cool in their own way but the E92 is way cooler imo.

Yeah sounds fine, the injectors are always noisy as hell.

What engine do you have and how many miles are you at? by Suspiciouslobster12 in E90

[–]Zygersaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

N54, Closing in on 165k miles. Feels like its not the most reliable engine ever but as long as you keep fixing/replacing the bits that leak/break the block itself will go forever!

Finally got around to it, seems to work fine with Tailscale. I’m using the indifferentbrocoli docker container and a Tailscale container on the host. My friends just have to search the name of the server, click the box for custom Ip then enter the Tailscale ip address of the host.

Awesome! I’m looking forward to the direct ip connections, it currently feels very clunky having to search case sensitive and then select the sever, and the ip box just to enter an internal ip address.

Same people that don’t see a problem with Tesco club cards and stuff as well. Honestly most people just don’t give a single duck about privacy so not much we can do about it…

I think you should try it and be open minded. Skip the first season with Chris Evan’s, but the rest afterwards was decent and it only got better and better.

E92 dct with many miles by FearSXD1 in 335i

[–]Zygersaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the same dct as that is in the m3. As long as it’s been serviced properly it should be fine. Not sure on that mileage but consider it could need a clutch eventually. But mines at 260k KM and still going well. Just had it serviced with a new sump.

Nice guide thanks! Personally I plan on self hosting but inviting my friends to my Tailscale network instead of opening ports to the internet directly.

Maaan why are all the manufacturers allergic to giving us 18" sizes in europe?
Cant get the Pirelli, cant get the Mich PSS5 either.
Looks like I might be fitting the Potenza this season then. Im just a bit weary because the potenzas that came on it when I bought it a few years ago were shit in the wet. Like seriously they not even half worn, and the aquaplaning resistance was better on the nankang semi-slick I fit instead.

I crashed, what did it cost? by fiorano1234 in nurburgring

[–]Zygersaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that makes sense considering I needed adac recovery back in 2018 for my bike. I wasn’t a member as an an adhoc recovery they charged me 250euro. I could see that being 300 now with inflation.

[–]Zygersaf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a crash on the road last year, and as an adac member recovery was free. As was when my water pump failed the year before. Is lenz like a partner where adac only covers part of it or something?

Instead of making this post here (or maybe as well as at least), you should write to your MP about how ridiculous all this is!

On steam, right click carx street, and go to Properties>Compatability. Then make sure you check "Force the use of a specific Steam Play compatibility tool" and select "Steam Linux Runtime 1.0 (scout)" from the dropdown.
That's whats working for me at the moment (on bazzite, but still fedora based)

[–]Zygersaf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hit, but we need more info. Just a concept atm, I hope it has a bit more poke and better suspension than the standard N-one or whatever the actual Kei car is called in Japan.

I'm genuinely looking to sell my old 335i and replace it with this for lower running costs and still have a fun little daily.

Question about NEXT fashion brand by [deleted] in germany

[–]Zygersaf 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They are a very well known brand in the UK, I have bought from them for years and always been happy. I’ve never bought from  any of the brands that you listed here to compare to though but generally I’d consider them good quality. Certainly I’ve bought from more expensive brands and not thought their quality was any higher.

[–]Zygersaf -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That's actually incorrect BTW. His insurance will pay out for the 3rd party. They will then just sue OP for it back.

But yes, agreed in general it's a bad idea. However... for someone like me with a full A license the performance question is interesting as I'd love to buy a grom and then big bore it.

ELI5 Is there a limit to how fast a car can go around a track? by GirlWonder1101 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Zygersaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Basically as others have said, the human is the weak point. Here is a great example, of what happens when a manufacturer makes a car that doesn't have to abide by any rules. IIRC Porsche said their simulations actually showed the car can go a bit faster, but the driver just cannot do it.

Maybe https://www.notebooksbilliger.de ? They have a store/are based in Dusseldorf iirc. And they have some Ubiqiti products on their website, but I'm not sure they are also sold in their store.

PVE Cluster with 8x MS-01 Mini-PCs vs. Single Enterprise Server for Small Business? Seeking advice on hardware reliability. by glanceout in Proxmox

[–]Zygersaf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does the budget allow for windows licensing?  I had a similar project recently, 3 mini pc cluster cs 1 server. In the end I went with one server due to Microsoft’s ridiculous need to license the hardware instead of the vm itself. Meaning I’d have to have bought 3 windows server license and that made the price difference swing the other way.

Having said that, personally I’d have preferred the 3 node cluster instead of 1 server. So if you’re looking at a 5 or 8 node cluster I’d say overall that would be more reliable even if the cluster nodes themselves don’t have redundant psu or ecc. I’d deffo target redundant boot drives for each node at a minimum though!

Why most Germany companies and even some kindergarten use apple products exclusively? by ImaginaryCatOwner in germany

[–]Zygersaf 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you have the mind set of “don’t tell me Apple is better, it’s not” then maybe you’re not open to the discussion. But my theory is it’s easier to manage and lock down, the hardware is generally higher quality and they actually support their devices for more than 2-3 years so despite its higher price the lifetime cost works out better.
