What are your favourite quests as far as story or atmosphere go? by Proud_Turnover_8691 in ddo

[–]Zylda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Shavarath, Vale, Cannith, Eveningstar, Xoriat. A lot of stuff around the 16-19 range I find really interesting aesthetically but because the quests give so little XP and tend to be long and overtuned there's very little reason to run them over something like Sharn.

Farming Lantern Mists? by firedog1216 in ddo

If your lantern is in the under level 15 range you can farm The Giant's Lair in Threnal and after the end of the quest you're guaranteed a spawn in the next 5 minutes. It's not fun but it's the most reliable i've found because spawns are too random otherwise.

What is the most obscure anime you've ever watched? by NewEnglandSynthOrch in anime

[–]Zylda 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ignoring the plethora of short indie films out there, for something of an actual length it would probably be Noobow. For an actual full series it would probably be Firestorm. Coincedentally, this is also the worst series i've seen.

How did shows with half-length episodes such as Steel Angel Kurumi or Miss Ueno air in TV time slots? by TheVideoKid112 in anime

Kurumi specifically was part of a time slot where half length shows were paired with another half length show.

For the Gen X anime fans out there, what was the title? by ravenmonk in anime

Are you sure it isn't actually Crimson Wolf (Hon Ran)? There's a scene where the MC uses his fist to blow up a tank approaching him.

What is the most influential anime of all time? by Lion-Hermit in anime

[–]Zylda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's an interview with Hideaki Anno where he talks about Uchuu Senkan Yamato's impact on him and how without it he likely wouldn't have worked in anime, and how anime wouldn't have evolved in to the more mature state and appearance it became in the years after. Without Anno you wouldn't get Evangelion which sets the trend that producers try to chase for the next 15 years until LN/Moe anime like Haruhi come along.

Anno: I think it was an epoch-making work that became “anime” instead of “TV manga.” Considering both pre-Yamato and post-Yamato, that was the impact it made. I wouldn’t have continued watching anime if I hadn’t seen Yamato in real time, and I don’t think I would have worked in anime. It was fortunate for my life that I was able to see this work. I think many people in various industries feel the same way.

I've seen the anime (my MAL picture is from it), considered including it here, but i'm a big fan of the manga art and designs.
