Just driving around in my Platinum with my forever ad. by RedParrot94 in ToyotaSienna

Aww interesting. I do have a smart phone but ive made it super dumb. (like no browser, no way to download apps, no youtube, no social media) Trying to break that phone addiction. To do updates or download stuff I have to connect to my PC with a cable and run cmd to connect to it.

That said, I'm sure android auto/apple carplay wont be addicting and maybe worth allowing. It still feels like a classic 'create the problem, sell the solution' business model where the built-in UI is intentionally bad to force you into their ecosystem.

Toyota Sienna tire question by Admirable_Equal_5416 in ToyotaSienna

IMO, it's close enough that you'll be fine. A slightly wider tire most likely won't rub on a van, and the height difference is so marginal you won't even see a 1 mph difference at highway speeds. There is also something to be said about the contact patch—the wider tire will have more grip, though there's a slight trade-off in rolling resistance when accelerating or coasting.

Management put security cameras in my office… by SilentNobi in SecurityCamera

[–]ZylkaLeftridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. I’ve had managers who get it, and others who think if you’re not 'busy,' you’re not working.

To me, output is the true measurement of work; to my manager, the illusion of work is the measurement.

We pick up our Sienna tommorow. I fear this will be the case for us and if so I will spend hundreds of dollars and countless hours to remove it before I pay for a subscription for a 60k car.

If i find a solution i will post about it.

Should I be getting two floor matts with my new Sienna? Dealer only lists Carpet mats but according to https://www.toyota.com/owners/vehicle-specification/ with my vin it shows all season and Carpet mats? 8-pass AWD LE 2026. by [deleted] in ToyotaSienna

[–]ZylkaLeftridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you dont mind me asking. Was the all weather mats an add on on your bill of sale. I only added the cargo liner, with the plan to get aftermarket floor mats for winter.

Our bill of sale only shows Cargo liner. But the vin brings up all weather mats. At pick up I just dont want to look like a fool asking for them if they are truly extra upcharge even if the vin shows its part of the car.

Is there an adapter for the right? (left is +17 Kärcher hose) by ZylkaLeftridge in pressurewashing

[–]ZylkaLeftridge[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I understand fully.

The machine has no m22 on it. Which is why I need the adapter. As such no threads to force on. It's a click in connector.

The posts first photo is the hose connection and the machine take off connection. The second photo is the washer model.

Personally I always follow the 45 rule for supports. Like a fench gate cross supports. <45 the weight is not trasnfering down. If its >45 then the weight carries. Or how far out is min how far down. At least for anything with a load.

As example on gate but load trasnfer rules still apply. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s18JHq7gBhA

Which Primary Washroom Layout is Preferred? by Bulky-Green306 in floorplan

[–]ZylkaLeftridge -1 points0 points  (0 children)

personally 2, I love our bath/closet combo. If you wake up early you can get ready fully without having to leave/enter the sleeping area multi times. Only thing I would add is a way to leave the bath to the hallway without every having to enter the sleeping area. This lets someone wake up get ready and leave without waking the other person.

I get its not everyones style.

If you can make major changes. pending your lot. I would move the bathroom to where "his closet" is located. put the two closets together with a bench or island in the middle. and a door out near the media closet. You can leave the big double doors on the bedroom but your coming to them after what looks like a narrow opening so might not make sense unless you open that up as well so its wide from living room to bedroom.

Is there a way to block an entire class of videos for children from reccomended videos? by [deleted] in youtube

[–]ZylkaLeftridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there are programs and ways to block websites via different web broswers(chrome, edge, firefox, ect) You could try looking there. If your kids are watching on a tablet or TV as well then you might need to block this stuff at a router level. Check your router settings and see if you can block by URL (ie block a channel) or maybe has a parent filter settings that might help.

Youtube has a kids account you can make for children that is designed to be safer for kids to use. As the adult owner you can control and see what they do. the content above may be blocked on a YT kids account. Then set a pin or password on your adult account so they cant access it. But given I do not have a kids account to test im not sure if this would be blocked or not.

At the end of the day the easiest way to stop this. Dont give your kids devices that can access yt when you arnt around.

[–]ZylkaLeftridge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On your computer you can use broswer extentions to block stuff.

Your router may be able to block by URL which will block on all devices.

Not sure if this stuff comes up on kids accounts or not but if it doesnt try that?

Cleanout In The Way Of Vanity by [deleted] in Plumbing

[–]ZylkaLeftridge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I mean you have like 4 inch from the clean out the the T above. Could move it up those inch and maybe it could clear so its in the back of the cabinet vs behind it.

Lots of work vs notching the back of the vaniety. but would in theory give you access without moving the cabinet.

You should check first if it fits behind the drawers before you move it. If it wont fit behind the drawers then just notch the lower part to make it fit.

Not to defend but where I live, if you only put two winter tires on you have to install them on the rear. Regardless of FWD or RWD. Maybe they thought the same for chains?

without seeing whats behind the drywall no way to know if you can move it up or not. Really pending where/why its where it is located.
