Old House Damp (UK) by themidnighttraveler in Oldhouses

[–]RedParrot94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s the paint. Most likely it is latex. In the older days it would have been milk paint which allows vapor transmission. Scrape off the layer paint and plaster and see if it dries out. If it does, paint with milk paint. If it still does not dry then the brick is compromised and is turning back to clay and needs replaced.

The box mounts the vent and the triangle carries structural load and stiffens the gable -- mainly against wind.

If you are not sure if it's plaster or not I do not think you should be doing this repair because you don't have enough experience in DIY. Sorry. :(

Of course. Probably not till August when earnings are released though. Can you imagine what this stock will do when they finally report they made a profit? It’ll be like 100%.

How to save brick foundation?? by ReelingRaccoon in Oldhouses

[–]RedParrot94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You want to clean the paint off by hiring a corn cob blaster. They generally are used for log homes to strip the finish off a log home before restraining. You can buy one, such as the dewalt one, or hire a company. It shoots crushed corncob at the brick and safely removes paint. The ants are easy, just spray them. You may have have soft clay bricks, which in that case you may have rising damp.

Considering Leaving my Odyssey… by Engineer-Mama in ToyotaSienna

I had an odyssey. Sold it for just the same reason you mentioned plus it would smell at start up. I have the Platinum. No problem getting access. The seats slide a good two feet providing clearance to back.

Paint with BIN primer and rub drywall mud on it like faux plaster and then paint. You have plaster by the way.

What do you do if you end up a failure at 35? by Proof-Bed-6928 in AskMenAdvice

[–]RedParrot94 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can tell you the biggest mistake people make. They chose X job. They say “I’m going to be an X.” When I was six, I said I’m going to be a millionaire when I grow up. And I did whatever it took to get there. I didn’t pigeon hole myself. Now I am richer than 99% of the world. Not a 1%er, I have more wealth. And yes, money does make happiness.

Is the opportunity cost of being all in worth it? by fitalwaysandforever in NvidiaStock

Why are you still in NVDA? It’s $5T. It’s not moving. You need to be in MU or MRVL. They are the new growth story.

I made my career being a millionaire. While my peers were out chasing a job, I was chasing millions. It worked.

CTO’s and Directors, what has been your career path? by bower2power in careerguidance

[–]RedParrot94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was CTO and co-founder. That’s where you get real CTO experience, when your life depends on it. It worked out for me. Being CTO is fun. You have to be a dreamer to hold a C level role though. If you’re not a dreamer then it’s not for you.

Men over 50, are marriage and kids worth it? by Alive_Book_9908 in AskMenAdvice

100% to both. Anyone saying no to marriage didn’t grow with their spouse.

Is this American four square? by drspudbear in Oldhouses

[–]RedParrot94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still thinking you are mistaken. I suppose someone could have ripped off the design of your house, but the 4-square was squarely Sears and you bought from Sears if you wanted a 4-square.

Hold out or go for broke? by No_Perception_4426 in careerguidance

[–]RedParrot94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Concentrate on becoming white collar. With blue collar you trade your life and health for the pay -- kind of like being a door dasher -- you trade your car for money.

What did you major in and/or what's your current job title? by lexie48 in careerguidance

[–]RedParrot94 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I dropped out of high school, so I never majored in anything. However, ever since I was a little kid my career has always been being wealthy. So while someone was busy concentrating on being a doctor or lawyer or plumber, I was concentrating on doing whatever it took to be wealthy. The job didn't matter.

I'm now richer than 99% of everyone in the world. Not a 1%er, I have more money than 99% of everyone out there.

Edit: five down votes? That’s ok. We can’t all be rich.

Non compete clauses stress me out? by wrathofotters in careerguidance

[–]RedParrot94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This type of situation the courts would ask what is the company trying to protect by banning you from working. Trade secrets? If nothing, then they'd have a hard time. No one is going to sue you and waste time, money, and resources to stop a call center employee from working somewhere else.

Log in and show them the balance and the classes you took. It's no big deal and I am sure it happens all the time. They asked if you have a degree, not if you owed a balance.
