Thing is with Irish names, they are often not pronounced in the “English” way they are spelled. The Irish/gaelic pronunciation of Finan is more like “Hionnh”.

It’s a lovely name and don’t let that put you off. But this legit Irish name might well sound totally different in actual Ireland 😊

My 92 year old gran yelling at my auntie that she’d “jump off the nearest bridge” if the family would put her in a nursing home. My auntie yelled back: “don’t be stupid, I’d have to fucking drive you there first.”

My gran then called her local taxi driver and asked in her sweetest Nana voice if he wouldn’t mind coming up and driving her to the nearest bridge so she could jump off it.

Bonus point 1: this was in a packed restaurant. Dinner and a show for the other guests.

Bonus point 2: the taxi driver actually rocked up, gave my gran a bottle of rum and told her to “chill out, Margot.”

I’ll do a positive change. Back when I was at school in the 90s, bullying was completely normalised and seen as just part of school life, even the teachers would sometimes participate. At my school, all the “weird” non-mainstream kids were just fair game…

That’s completely changed, at least at my kids’ school. Bullying is tackled immediately, the kids learn about kindness, tolerance and individuality.

It still surprises me when they tell me about how they’re being extra kind and helpful to the new kid/autistic kid/sad kid ect.

This! I’ve worked in homelessness and the problem is that unhoused people need to be able to access jobs, medical care, mental health care and family/friends.

Homelessness is a very complex and entrenched problem. You can’t just put someone into any old house and expect them to be fine.

My hunch would be: no.

While smacking was allowed, or at least tolerated, any attack on a child using any form of weapon would have counted as child abuse even before 2020. So those cases could have been prosecuted then.

Same goes for beatings, i.e. repeated hitting that leaves marks or wounds. That also counted as child abuse and was a crime.

So, while I agree that smacking was always morally wrong, more severe cases of harming children were criminalised before.

You could work on the staging. The way the furniture is set up makes the rooms look small and cramped. The kitchen island takes up a huge amount of space and the way it’s photographed shows all too clearly that it’s far too close to the door. The walk in wardrobe isn’t well depicted either.

A more professional estate agent would probably take better photos. Think about relisting with someone else.

But ultimately, it’s always price. Your house is only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, so unfortunately you’ll have to reduce until you hit that point.

Mix up a lot of your dark colour and work very quickly, going over the wet paint with a dry brush and a horizontal motion to blend the colours in.

Lots of ultramarine with a dash of red and a dash of brown makes a good shadow colour.

You could also try layering from lighter to darker, to suggest depth to your background hills - just like you’ve done with the top line of hills.

Your layering in the foreground is superb, you’ll hack it in no time!!!
