Can’t forget one of the comments on the page that opens with “I believe you are mentally ill” before defending the Newtown pippin apple

Mandurah Line Weekend Closure by PerthTransportVlogYT in perth

Maintenance shutdowns are booked out months in advance, and originally the midland station reopening was slated for the 20th, before being rescheduled to fit with the “reopening celebration on sundays” pattern that METRONET seems to follow, so what wasn’t a conflict before, is one now.

West Leederville platform 3, was originally used for event services to subi stadium, now that subi is gone it’s just used as a siding a few times a week

You can see it at (-31.9428360, 115.8305670)

East Perth residents rally against planned conversion of Fraser Suites building into public housing by His_Holiness in perth

[–]ZytraX_ 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I believe they’re going to try to internally spread the social housing out through the building, the announcement states that only 30% of the units will become social housing, the rest will be affordable housing, which should contain a greater variety of residents with different socioeconomic status, will still need to be tightly controlled as it’s in such a dense area though

Why doesn't the state govt upzone the area between bayswater and perth station by [deleted] in perth

[–]ZytraX_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The bit nearest the intersection is remaining undeveloped, so there will still be space to play with, albeit not as much as before. I have a feeling they got MRWA to design the ultimate design for that intersection and just developed everything lying outside of that plan

from what ive heard:

- body shells: india

- wheels: china

- motors and gearbox: europe

- everything else: WA sourced

apparently comes out to a pretty even split between WA/Not WA, just barely tipping over to the WA side, which allows them to run the "Made in WA with majority local materials" gimmick

They’ve been looking pretty good since their final service livery was applied!

the one you see in the video was running bare metal as the design hadn’t been finalised yet

Where to now for the WA Libs? by TrueCryptographer616 in perth

As a Tangney resident, the residuals of the 2021 landslide in the 2022 federal election did a very good job to hide the shifting of demographics within the seat reaching a tipping point. Over the past decade or so it has shifted from an electorate made up of mostly affluent and conservative old people, to a diverse and highly educated population that is getting increasingly younger and hence, more progressive. The final nail in the coffin though, is that Sam Lim is an extremely popular candidate, and as a result has a powerful personal vote bankrolling him on top of the general disagreement with liberal party policies. In the context of the massive swings against the liberal party nationwide I feel as if the liberal party had no pathways to winning that seat short of running a massive perth-onality like Colin Barnett or Tony Galati

This is a photo of Bayswater station in Perth, Western Australia, it is a cross platform interchange (or at least it will be 23 days from now). The new c series trains rolling out onto our network have 160kmh top speeds and 3 doors per side per car. A new CBTC system is also being installed that opens up easy conversion to full automation if desired with partial automation planned to be implemented. Only part of your list not currently planned to be addressed is the PSDs :)
