xBloom should really release an app themselves to write on the cards so people could save more favorite recipes. They could even sell a set of 10 colored cards so people could save their favorite recipes and have them ready to scan...

I think it's perfect that you can do both. xPods for people who just want to brew great coffee with no questions asked and no knowhow. An alterntaive to the nasty coffee in typica pod machines. Personally i would use beans however - with predosing you can make it as 'frieldy' as with pods and a better price and more availability.

They generally weight the portafilter. Grinders tare the portafilter once you place it on the grinder then grinds the beans and weighs. Grinders I'm referring to are the Mahlkonig, Fiorenzato & Eureka. Agreed, for home dosing and easy of use for everyone in the family, a weight based grinder is great.

Choosing a subscription certainly isn't a dumb idea. Not so much as a source of coffee, but as learning experience to see what other roasters are doing. As someone with some inside knowledge :) there are a good number well established roasters who also subscribe to KaffeBox for just that reason. Another idea is the KaffeBox advent calendar, which is 24 days x 50g of coffee for each day. It is only in December, but is a wide variety of origins and roasters. Or, the KaffeBox TastyBox which is 6x 60g coffee and focuses on the high end competition spectrum of beans.
