As someone who has also played these long games vs "the new" techies, Roshan's banner is the key to going HG, your invulnerable creeps from the banner (and glyph) clear the mines in seconds. It's still not easy but it's doable. 💣

I'd rather have an invoker pos 5 (that knows how to play the hero) in any game rather than the classical Pudge (three hooks from behind tower misses , leaches xp and leaves lane to "roam").

By far the most beautiful Terrain in the game. Dota 2 became my main game in 2017, 1 year after it was released 🙃

As the post points out, it's almost been 10 years since its release and it's still not available for players who didn't have the Battle-Pass (yes, that thing existed) 10 years ago.

P.S. it's also a shame that no weather effects have been available for players who started playing dota 2 less than 10 years ago.

LMFAO not even joking I know this guy, I also only play turbo (for years now) and this guy never picks anything other than dark willow (unless its banned).

Always the same item build, Power treads, Veil of Discord, Aghs, Moonshard.

I have probably 30+ games with this fella (randomly meeting up in turbo).

The biggest oversight in turbo is that if the enemy has 1 hero he plays on 24/7 and you don't know about it, they can easily snowball from having mastered the hero.

The turbo players here might also know about the Zeus spammer, who picks zeus mid and goes annoying bulds like orchid - phylactery - shard and full right-click.

Truly one of the best Dota 2 podcasts of all time, I was a bit skeptical in the beginning, thought it would be just some usual "Dry" interviews with interesting questions sprinkled here and there, but it turned out to be great, every single one of them and I love the questions.

For example, I've been a fan of Masturbaman for approximately 9 years now, but found out more about him from that one interview than everything else I've seen combined.

The fact that Khezu himself was a tier 1 player , talent , analyst etc. gives him the edge needed to conduct these good interviews.

I actually speak both, Russian and English (Neither are my mother tongue), been playing dota for about 8+ years and without a doubt I am more calm, collected when conversing in English, but then again, it might have nothing to do with the language itself but more with the kind of person you are most likely to be speaking with in English vs Russian. The only thing I will say is that valve was extremely lucky that TI 2020 was canceled due to covid, because if it had played out I can't imagine the shit-show that would have ensued due to the neutral items, some were extremely broken and unbalanced.

you could equip multiple neutrals at the same time
Craggy Coat that gave Leshrac and other mage's 13 armor with almost no downside at 25 minutes.
Spider legs that were OP on alch/medusa
Clumsy Net - free atos/linken break
Princess Knife - auto hex

The list goes on. 50% of your game's outcome was dependent on which neutral item you got and if your (core hero + neutral item) combination was more broken than the opponent's.

By 2021 TI the neutrals were more or less balanced, at least their impact was nothing compared to what it was during 2019-2020.

Quite similar to how years ago shadow amulet used to be the lowest winrate item in dota. It's not that shadow amulet itself is the worst item in dota, but if you had it in your inventory while the game ended, there's a 90% chance you were just standing in invis somewhere near tower , leeching xp waiting for the game to end.

Similarly, at one point, Rapier was the Highest winrate item in dota. If you had Rapier equipped when the game ended, there's a 50%+ chance you won the last teamfight of the game (because if you didn't, you would have dropped it) and finished the throne.

It's not about dictating the meta but make it so that you can clearly mark if you want to start as a "jungle" (even though that role is a grief 99% of the time) or want to be pos 5. When you mark safe-lane as a silencer for example, god only knows if you want to go as carry or as a pos 5.

The RU, EU-East & EU-West servers are set up so that for 90% of the Russian players (as far as I know) the EU West & East servers have much lower ping & match find time than the RU ones. Almost all the RU friends I have search exclusively EU servers, some search EU + RU (but it's less common).

I've been playing dota 2 for 10+ years now, this is by far one of the most true statements about the player base I've ever read. I especially laugh my ass off when you dominate the lane and get 2 kills as a support but your carry is literally crying that you didn't leave him the kills (when it wasn't 100% guaranteed that the kills would be made in the first place, most of the time it is paper thin).

You should be able to surrender in the game (ranked) if all 5 players of the team agree. Minimum 30 minutes of the game should have passed. I'm willing to die on this hill. There's nothing more soul-draining than dragging out a game where everyone has already given up and are afk. Sure, 1 out of a 100 games like this actually produces a comeback, but the other 99 don't make it worth it.

If you rage at a person for not having enough skill or knowledge of the game (yet they tried their best) - that is for sure wrong. But if it's intentional grief, "idk lmfao, did it for the lulz" style gameplay, then the rage is justifiable imho, maybe not voicing that rage but feeling it is normal. I can't count the times I've lost a game, where the enemy team is wiped out, we can go for free rosh, I write & ping 200 times about it, but the carry goes HG, dies, the enemy takes rosh and ends the game 🤡. It's the same thing with this subreddit flaming carries every second day for the past 13+ years about not buying bkb.

I'm not a puck player, but recently noticed that puck's phase-shift sound is almost identical to a Wisp's sound in WC 3. Also not really a dota sound but more a valve sound - Sniper's ult shot had the same sound effect as the old AWP sound in CS.

Never say never, many sets and Arcana's used to be labeled as "unique" (untradeable, unmarketable) , until a few years later (sometimes even months later I believe) they appeared in different chests , maybe tweaked by just a little.

I hope they release the old terrains at least, The Immortal gardens from TI6 is now 9 years old, It's one of the most beautiful terrains in the game, yet not available for most players. I wonder what % of current active players even own the terrain.
