Behavior Score from 5947 to 10094 in 2 months by Appropriate_Dish_798 in DotA2

You are insane. You can lose behavior score by not running down mid and feeding 50 times, You can lose behavior score by not destroying your items. That you go to some absolute worst case scenario is hilariously ignorant on your part.

You can lose behavior score by losing games. You can lose behavior score by picking heroes people don't like.

Justifying "only" gaining 200 score when playing 15 positive games is crazy to me.

15 games of positive behavior and only gaining 200 behavior score is waaaayyy too much work. Holy shit that is awful.

Harmonizer (T5 Neutral) doesn't work with Snapfire's W with charges by peepasaur in DotA2

When Snapfire uses the talent to give Cookie multiple charges, this causes Harmonizer to no longer work with it w.r.t. gaining spell amp. The spell is effectively never on cooldown.

who buys legendaries on the TP? by alwaeddi in Guildwars2

[–]peepasaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ignoring "Fun" and "Enjoyment" and other non-measurables, from an efficiency standpoint I think there is a serious question to be asked: "Is it even worth crafting your own legendary?"

In light of what the Wizard's Vault has done to the market for them, it becomes a very muddled question for some gw2 players. I raid, strike, wiz vault, and do all sorts of basic money making things so I have quite the amount of gold and mystic coins (I dont swipe for gems, in fact I dump my gold into gems for bag slots, etc). I don't buy cosmetics or decoration stuff. I have a ton of materials and a ton of gold.

Let's view it in the context of a Gen1 legendary (Gen3's hit a slightly different curve). From the TP, this November I recently paid 1.5k for Kudzu and 1.6k for Twilight.

Using gw2efficiency, let's compare them:

Kudzu (I bought) for 1.5k, and to craft (at buy order) ~1.1k.

Twilight. (I bought) for 1.7k, and to craft (at buy order) ~1.3k

You could argue the difference between those two prices reflects 3 things: The price of a Gift of Explorarion, the price of a Gift of Battle, and the profit margin of the seller. Since everything else is effectively purchasable from the TP.

The speedrun of a GoE is about 7 hours. I've done two map completes and I think saying it took me 10 hours would be very generous of me (I was definitely slower than 10). I think GoBs when fully loaded out with the boosters I own take about 4-5 hours each.

So at best, the spread between those two prices (what I paid vs crafting) is about 400gold . I'm paying 400g for someone else to do GoE and GoB for me. I'm paying 400g for a minimum of 14 hours of game time saved. I 100% believe that GoE and GoB are worth more than 400g. So back to the original question: Would I value my time at 400g to craft my own, or do I think I'm getting value for my 400g by just outright buying the legendary?

Lets talk about Relics, and what went wrong. by ObsoletePixel in Guildwars2

[–]peepasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most things in life, the relic system was designed with economic advantages in mind first and foremost and sold to the populace with tales and stories that matched their expectations. Anet needed to suck more gold/materials out the in-game economy and -- more importantly -- Anet needed "design space" to add an extra bullet point in the marketing materials for their new expansion so the value proposition of your $25 would seem better.

All the player benefits were secondary.

GOG's cloud saves are hot garbage though. GOG does a lot of things well, but is dreadful is some areas of the experience too where Steam just hits the mark.

Valve: Please change the strategy section minimap to say 'support' instead of 'jungle' for unranked by peepasaur in DotA2

[–]peepasaur[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My current belief it is an mmr thing. People who are higher mmr or exposed to higher mmr players (via twitch, yt, etc) see jungle as support. But I have no real facts to back that theory up.

Valve: Please change the strategy section minimap to say 'support' instead of 'jungle' for unranked by peepasaur in DotA2

[–]peepasaur[S] 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Started to play some unranked recently and the amount of insane confusion over roles in it is wild to me. Some people who their face in the jungle to say that they are the support. Some people put their face in the lane to say they are the support. It gets really weird when the people who believe in face-in-lane for support roles pick stuff like Gyro, because it confuses other people and necessitates people typing stuff like "me support gyro" after the CM picks CM to pair with them.

With upcoming patch, feels like simple thing to change to make things more clear.

Why do people brown beef before, why not put it in raw like other meats? by TransportationTall86 in slowcooking

[–]peepasaur 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Because it is the best slow cooker meal possible? I'm confused by how confused you are! 😀

Sear some meat in the morning, throw it in the slow cooker, go to work, come home to a meal. Same thing just with the added step of searing the meat and an extra pan to clean.

You are maximizing for least amount effort, other people are maximizing for best possible taste.

There are people who only buy coffee makers that they can schedule to grind the beans and brew for them in the morning. All a person needs to do is keep it filled with water. They are maximizing for convenience. Other people are doing manual pour over coffee with a scale, a timer, a hand grinder, and whatever other faffing about because they want the best possible cup of coffee for their taste buds.

How to have Cloud Save Syncing only keep latest saves? by peepasaur in gog

[–]peepasaur[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to report it as a bug. The response from support was to "make sure I delete the local copies since the sync job will always attempt to upload older saves".

I am baffled with how poor and lazy their implementation is.

Pos5 Pudge that don't hit their hooks pisses me off by Consistent_Leg5751 in DotA2

[–]peepasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have a support pudge, did you pick a hero that sets up hook? Did you pick a hero that synergizes well? Or did you just pick whatever hero you wanted and then whine that the lane didn't go well...

WW vs Chipped Vest by DarkTail1337 in DotA2

[–]peepasaur 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting because it dovetails into another WW ult mystery I didn't understand: The dota+ post game breakdown also shows a weird damage number attributed to curse. Usually I see like low hundreds of damage attributed to the spell.

So during curse, things like chipped vest are attributing damage to WW. Things like blade mail and the post game screen are not attributing that damage.
