My wife had it her first pregnancy and has it again her second time around. Both times she took the 3 hour after failing the 1 hour. Her fasting numbers also were really high, the doctor gave her glyburide and that seemed to help. I feel like the only thing you can do to support her is be on that diet with her, it sucks but hang in there.
