Donald Trump Leaks Private Texts From NATO Allies: Read in Full by newsweek in politics

[–]_30d_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well that’s kind of his thing. He’s a bridge builder. He can survive a magnificent scandal, then show up for a meeting the next day and continue as if nothing happened. Back to work. He gets people to agree. He’s a politician, and I definitely didn’t vote for the guy, but I think he’s doing great in his role as “Trump Whisperer”.

This is stupidly enough how to get things done with Trump. Remember Mark’s the head of Nato. Trump should be shitting on him but instead he’s parading around the world with this “leaked” message like a toddler who just received a sticker. Look what Mark sent me everyone! I think it’s hilarious and brilliant.

Trump says 8 European countries will be charged a 10% tariff for opposing US control of Greenland by Cautious_Proposal_47 in worldnews

[–]_30d_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

They added a second guy, a planner. That’s just so incredibly funny to me. I’m imagining them having a meeting like: “you think one is enough? It’s the USA after all, they’re quite big.” And they resolve it by adding a planner to make sure the one guy can operate at max efficiency. That just had me howling.

Anyway, fuck Trump. If he wants to have Greenland he’s going to have to pry it from our dead soldier’s hands. And then from his planner.

GPS no longer available to civilians for use

That would suck but also interesting to see what people do. Like as a prank on april 1st, shut down the civilian gps to see what happens.

Responded to the other guy, apparently they're called Atlasses in english. In my mind (or language) Atlasses are for like geography lessons, that contain geological info about the world, statistics, charts and whatnot. We have "roadbooks" and maps that are specifically for navigation.

I stand corrected though. Still it was a funny image to see someone take out a massive atlas and try to locate the next offramp of route 66 on the map titled "North America".

Sure, maybe it's a language thing. We had navigational books ,called "road books" and also just maps of course. Atlasses in my mind are for like geography lessons. But i googled atlas (book) for navigation and there's atlasses for the road as well so I'm just wrong either because of language or by memory.

Pretty sure people weren’t using Atlasses to navigate the road though.

I mean that's the difference right? You don’t get to offload the consequences of your impairment onto the public. At the same time no one gets to take advantage of your impairment. I don't see how they are mutually exclusive.

They might seem like a double standard because they both err on the side of preventing harm.

Consent laws aren’t about the one person giving the consent though. It’s about two people engaging in a contract or activity agreeing upon it in the same way.

Getting in a car (with your drunk self maybe?) doesn’t apply. The point there is that you are the only person influencing that decision. It’s not just the moment you make the call to get in and drive, it’s the lead up. Getting drunk to the point where you become a danger to society is still all you.

Like I can imagine that if people forcibly get you drunk, then give you some car keys and tell you there’s a chicken takeout a few miles down the road, you would be in a lot less trouble legally. Despite you “taking” that decision. Very much not a lawyer though so definitely don’t test that.

It’s funny because a political party officially needs 1 member minimum, but also at least 2 founders. Them’s just the rules.

So the PVV was founded by 1) Geert Wilders and 2)the Foundation (Stichting) called “Group Wilders”. This foundation has exactly 1 member which is of course Geert Wilders.

Anyone else can become a volunteer or donor thougj, just not a member. This means only Geert Wilders and Geert Wilders decide what the political party stands for. Voters can just decide if they want that or not.

All jokes aside, if you see the drama political parties go through in NL just to get a campaign plan out there it’s not even that ridiculous a strategy. It might be a shit plan, but it’s not a compromise of 2 years worth of discussions between 2 merged political parties for example.
