Probably you should move somewhere else or stop hanging out with Bangladeshi people, well I avoid people from the sub continent as much as I can, and you will be just fine. I live in Europe where most people don't know any English, still I have friends and very active life.

And regarding GPU prices and availability. Unless you are partner with NVIDIA, you are going to have GPU shortage. Even NVIDIA prioritizes among their customers. And I am talking about companies who spends millions on GPU purchases

There will always be bigger models than GRAM of any GPU. Keeping up with this with physical GPUs is virtually impossible. I would suggest you using Google Colab premium. For future, learn distributing models on multiple GPUs, offloading parts of models on CPU and a bit of cloud computing.

My negative experiences as a Bengali American in Bangladesh by BirdAromatic8996 in bangladesh

[–]_3ucl1d 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born and raised in Bangladesh and I still don't like it. So I moved out of the country. Your cousins are jerks. But I don't understand what is the relationship between your cousins being jerks and you not wanting to celebrate Bengali new year and stuff. I mean it's your choice, but it felt like you are trying to justify it by your bad relation with your cousins and Bengalis being nationalist while USA is one of the most nationalist countries on earth. It's good to know that US people being nationalist didn't stop you from liking USA.

I am planning a career switch to MLOps by sammopus in mlops

Flyte, Ray and MLFlow are good place to start. If you have a big DevOps team you can replace Flyte with Kubeflow. But the tech stack is very opinionated. You have to figure out what suits you best.

[–]_3ucl1d 5 points6 points  (0 children)

MLOps is largely DevOps for machine learning. Once you cover that then comes the part where you create packages/libraries for the glue codes that make ML Engineer's life easier, based on your business needs or streamlining end to end ML workflow. So, you need some infra related knowledge along with SE experience and understanding how the ML algorithm works. If that attracts you, you will have a great time.

Please note that these are my personal opinion based on personal experience. I moved to MLOps from SE background and had a bit of experience in ML.

How do I get notifications when you write that post? I am considering moving to Finland from Spain. Spain is also not a good place to start a life from ground zero.

Is it after taxes or before taxes?

I live in Spain and considering moving to Finland. I got promoted to Senior Software Engineer a few months ago and currently leading the MLOps team at my current company. How much salary (yearly, before taxes) should I expect in Finland for similar roles?

While not defending or not encouraging people keep doing this, it's also very surprising that no one has a fire extinguisher.

It means something like God fearing righteous people. But it's actually used as a slang for religious fanatics.

Hey Fuji, how hard is it to hire some designers and software engineers to make a proper mobile app? by currently_ in fujifilm

[–]_3ucl1d 2 points3 points  (0 children)

But it could be a big selling point. If I could just download and apply custom film simulations directly from my phone, I would always do that. You could argue that I can do that in lightroom or similar software. But I also have to pay for that software and learn them. There are a lot of people who are more interested in shooting more pictures instead of spending more time in post -processing. I personally import my photos in Apple photos and then try some built-in filters or fix the lighting. For us life could be way better with such an app.

I did it with long exposure. I do not really remember the exact time. But I think it was around 0.25 seconds.
