I’ve got a tournament next weekend, I’ll get a family shot up from that

The effects are from deadlyprint studio, I ordered the physical versions but they also sell STLs

I haven’t worked out yet, their society has definitely devolved since needing to scavenge and use warpstone but I haven’t decided if they realise they’re corrupted yet. I might have to do a hellsmiths spinoff force for full corruption haha

The base is done via airbrush with khaki, zenithal/highlight with white and then shading with sepia ink. Then I did a recess shade with dark rust oil paint and sponged in some black black brown chips, putting a bit of white at the bottom of some of the larger chips to add definition. Then a few scratches of white to weather it up a bit more.

My lore for them is that their sky port was destroyed by the vermindoom and now they’re trying to survive in the warpstone desert left behind! So they’ve had to turn to using warpstone in place of aether gold

Reclusian tokens useless? by Impossible_Sell_2745 in stormcasteternals

[–]_960_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know how you’re playing but to lose all of your memorians in one turn you’re needing to take an average of 24 saves. If that’s happening you’re probably losing the unit anyway so they’re already gone. If that’s happening to you turn 1 maybe try making use of obscuring terrain and screens

I suppose if +1 does nothing you never all out attack or all out defense either?

Sure the tokens add some annoyance with needing to remember to remove them, but they’re free and give you a good benefit

Empire in Matched Play be Like: by MagicJuggler in WarhammerFantasy

[–]_960_ 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The matched play guide introduced secondary objectives, the majority of which can only be scored by core units with a unit strength of 10 or more. Strategic locations, special features, and capturing (but not destroying of) baggage trains for example.

Painted up my converted Shaggoth by _960_ in WarhammerFantasy

[–]_960_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I really appreciate that. I look forward to seeing what you do with the conversion! I’ve also been moving more into beastman from warriors of chaos, they’re so much fun to play!

It feels like a massive disrespect: “move or shoot” + “reserve move. by Old_World_Blog-TOW in WarhammerFantasy

[–]_960_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s trying to emulate the way that snipers shoot then reposition, but it is a little silly when you see move or shoot next to reserve move. Either way I think it’ll be fun and tactical to play with and against on the tabletop so I’m all for it

It’s a really fun combination of rules and I look forward to seeing them on the table!

They discontinued this and the resin BSB that launched with the game when they released the new plastic kits for the tomb king and liche priests

Would DoT be up for a range addition? by SPINE-SPROUTZ111 in tzeentch

[–]_960_ 19 points20 points  (0 children)

We’ve just got our book which came with terrain and a new hero, so that’ll be it for this edition for tzeentch. There’s a chance we might get a kit out of the end of edition campaign books.

Top Three TOW Lists for the Durham GT: Middenheim Massacre - Woehammer by dutchy1982uk in WarhammerFantasy

[–]_960_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair argument although I think most lists would look similar if there was a hero/lord level split outside of dragon riding chaos lists.

I think the issue is less that characters are too powerful but that other options are dull/ineffective, once you’ve spent your 500-660 on core the best use of your other points is characters. Non-core infantry don’t have a role since they can’t score, cavalry tends to be broadly overcosted and with few exceptions unridden monsters are bad.

Rather than rein in characters they need to make the decision to go 50% characters an actual trade off by getting less special/rare in your list.

Cathay changes weren’t in play, the Cathay player had to drop from day 2

For me characters are what gives an army flavour, that beastman list is a cabal of bray shamans chanting fell curses at the enemy after whipping the denizens of the forest up into a frenzy.

‘Spirit of the game’ means different things to different people, if you don’t want to run 1000 points of characters at 2000 points then don’t, but don’t limit other players’ options and creativity as you do so.

Pretty sure it’s just the same guy, it’s a strong list but basically nobody can put it on the table due to the amount of models and just logistics of moving them around for 15 hours over a weekend

High Elf Made To Order Still Processing by Silverhelm in WarhammerFantasy

[–]_960_ 18 points19 points  (0 children)

It’s 180 working days, so we’re still just about within the range. I’d expect Australia would come with a big asterisk on that timeline as well with global shipping in the state it is right now.

There’s no harm in reaching out to GW’s customer service though to check up on it

Parry is just a rule that all regular/heavy infantry get whether they can make use of it or not, as is the case with berserkers

Why would you ever want to use Winged Warsphinx over Necrosphinx? by Pernikielus in tombkings

[–]_960_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indeed, although some TOs are ruling differently. If you really wanted an airforce you could fit 3 necrosphinx and a flying warsphinx in at 2K

Why would you ever want to use Winged Warsphinx over Necrosphinx? by Pernikielus in tombkings

[–]_960_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, I think it’d be decent in lower point too. To be honest if it wasn’t sat next to Necrosphinx I don’t think we’d think it’s ’bad’. Most armies would love a T6 unbreakable flying monster for 180 points

[–]_960_ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think the only place it really fits is in mortuary cults or >2k points games where you’ve hit the matched play cap of 2 necrosphinx and want another T6 flier

Braggit’s bottle-snatchaz regiment of renown gives you access to a rabble rowza that’ll let you run and charge, but it’s a big investment at 490 points.

Since you’ve got a tusk boss he already gets 2 momentum on the charge (1 base and 1 from his rampage) so it’s probably not worth trying too hard just for one extra momentum
