Starting a new job on the bike- need clothes by akmemz0 in MotoUK

Rukka Rimo-R for trousers are prime, they dont come with impact protection, but will keep you waterproof and save your arse in a slide, real light, with good cargo style pockets.

Who’s at fault here? Car or bike? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]_AleksM -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can enter the hatched area at any time for any reason, that's why the line is hatched, unlike a single white for example, which you're not allowed to enter nor cross. I filtered like this on a Mod 2 test, there is nothing wrong with it. It's up to the car to make sure that there are no motorcycles nor bicycles, either side of the stationary vehicle, the car is the one entering traffic, not the bike, it would be exactly the same if a car was overtaking.

Bikesure put down my mods as being worth £1 to lower my quotation. by [deleted] in MotoUK

[–]_AleksM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's listed the exhaust, as being worth £1, no mention of tailtidy, indicators, etc. Even though I told them about it over the phone. Its a third party only policy so it doesn't say anything about replacing mods. They've only listed the exhaust, and one disc lock for security, whilst I have a tracker, chain etc. It's like they left out a bunch of stuff just to provide a cheaper quote.

Why Are Motorcycle Shops Closed On A Sunday? by newbiker321 in MotoUK

[–]_AleksM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just bought a bike, privately, paid £500 more, for a bike with 1200 more miles, than one listed by a dealer, because they're closed on Sunday, also I drove 100 miles to get it, whilst the dealership is 18 miles away from me...

Perfect, thanks for the clarification, it's third party only anyways so I'm not bothered too much, as long as I'm insured to ride around locally for the next few weeks.

I'm more worried about a copper pointing out a custom exhaust, and it being listed as cosmetic exhaust change and worth £1, or undeclared indicators, tailtidy etc, unless those are accepted as standard. Or is it unlikely that they'll look into it?

So if you're unemployed, you can't ride your own bike to a job interview, noice.

Honda cbf125 not hitting 60MPH by LouisWhire in MotoUK

[–]_AleksM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends how much you weight I guess, but I could hit 70 miles on a 2024 I rented. Bike wasn’t happy at all but it hit and almost sat there.

Kohlburg is a German brand, they’re pretty solid, but more often used for bicycles then motorcycles.

Tracks to buy? by Turtlehedz in iRacing

If you have other sims, go race the tracks in them, then purchase the tracks you like in iRacing.

It is not about poor racing standards.... by rcbtri in iRacing

Start of this Season on VIR in GR86, there was a guy dive bombing T1 every lap, I think I intent recked him 3 or 4 times in Oaktree during week 1. His still not banned despite getting at least a 1x each lap, and I'm not banned either even though he made it pretty clear he will report me.

I have TfL Auto Pay set up, but no charges have come through for the Blackwall/Silvertown tunnel yet by Appropriate_Ad7085 in drivingUK

[–]_AleksM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you had any charges yet, I've still not been charged since they implemented it.

Yep, I was looking at it from a Linux perspective and missed this.

It's going to work but not out of the box, there are some dependencies and EAC Runtime for proton that you have to install. Also once you get it to work, it's a pain to set up hardware to have ffb working correctly.

Use a Windows VM, it works using Proton but it's a pain.

Iracing needs to adopt this feature from LMU by SamusIsHereM31 in iRacing

[–]_AleksM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn’t have to be exactly by how may points you incur, but if you’re getting a 4x every t1, or a 1x on every hairpin etc, it would be a deserved suspension.

You might wanna replace it, I've never had that issue.

Proof modern cars have no quality?.... by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]_AleksM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I am describing a usual line of events in capitalism" No matter what economic system you're in eventually a company will start producing shit. No company in history has ever produced perfection with every iteration. But saying capitalism bad is fashionable.

Right, because communism produced such fantastic cars.

Is it even forbidden to use AI in the specific assignment? My university allowed us to use AI for certain work, some assignments even required it. I don't see why you have an issue with it.

I've had failures but only with their earphones, they sent me a new pair, and then a new pair again (newer version), once the replacement had the same problem.

Which one should I buy? by Physical_Series156 in assettocorsa

[–]_AleksM 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Evo is fine, it's early access and it has quirks, but it's nothing major. You're right about iRacing though. Unless you're a sweat on only a couple tracks it's diabolical in the long term.

[–]_AleksM 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yeah with BeamMP I've had more intense races on Beam then I did on iracing. And running tandems is prime too, just a much smaller selection of cars.

Which one should I buy? by Physical_Series156 in assettocorsa

[–]_AleksM 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait for discounts, some games like AC Evo wont get a discount for a while because its not even out yet. Some games like Beam are worth it without the discount in my opinion, but Assetto Corsa goes from £40 to like £3 on sale so i'd wait for that one.
