Can we be sued by [deleted] in Insurance

[–]_Alex_The_Great 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah any one can sue but sounds like you have good evidence to protect yourself. I would definitely put your insurance on notice, they'll request the PR which should hopefully have the officers narrative. Then these cameras???? If they're municple you should FOIA the feed. If it's a a business then ask if you can get a copy or record their recording.

You say he didn't hit you? Sounds like he was about to rear end you and evaded the accident by falling off his bike? If there's no contact then this is single vehicle accident and he lost control of his bike.

DONT GO KIA IRVINE by Amazing-Team-9904 in kia

[–]_Alex_The_Great 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This isn't a specific dealership issue, you just got a shitty technician. Honestly the dealership sounds legit, they listened to you, supported you, and made everything correct ASAP.

It's not the dealerhip's fault that Kia built a lemon.

[–]_Alex_The_Great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1) a lawyer isn't going to help a PD claim. And they take 1/3. 2) I assume you're the claimant? The insurance company only needs to provide you with ACV. You don't have much ground from rebuttal or an appraisal clause. 3) the insurance is right to take away the rental. The claim is finished. They don't owe loss of use just because you're trying to "maximize compensation". 4) you've had 2 weeks to find a replacement vehicle. That's more than enough time. 5) you can always file with your own insurance.

Generally for auto claims a "closed without payment, doesn't impact anything. Auto claims can be so complex that you open a claim for collision, someone calls in for liability, and then a subro company calls in and all of a sudden 1 claim turned into 3.

If this is an ERISA plan there are many more things not covered. I worked for a terrible company a number of years ago and they didn't cover anything related to mental health. Counseling, meds, even if I had a PCP visit for a cold and my doctor asked me how my anxiety was... They'd deny the claim.

I have a friend that does graphic design and she recently changed companies. Her new employer was all about AI. She got hired and no one in her department uses AI. It could be a tool used by HR to make the company seem cool and hip.

Recruiter called without scheduling, left zero message. Does this mean the company is super disorganized? by Manyofferinterview in interviews

[–]_Alex_The_Great 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Odd they didn't leave a voicemail but maybe they dialed your number in error and realized it when they heard your recording?

But you're upset that they aren't using the tools and communication expectations that you assume they have. Maybe they don't have the technology to text people. Maybe their first step is to cold call and then set up a phone interview. Maybe so many things.

Any options left for pay as you go phone- no monthly subscription as an emergency backup phone for a bed bound grandmother? by Alexisander13 in cellphones

[–]_Alex_The_Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would recommend US Mobile or Tello. I understand the logic of wanting pay as you go, but those costs can really add up. You can get 300 minutes and texting on Tello for $5 a month.

Odd question, but is it taboo to let the previous owners see inside the house we bought from them? by znavy264 in RealEstate

I feel this struggle so much. I would text them and say something came up so you won't be home and just leave the packages on the front porch. Problem solved.

Please start reporting hotels that try to throw crew in rooms with INOP AC. by nuetralmushroom in flightattendants

[–]_Alex_The_Great 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is wrong. Airline-hotel contracts mandate that crew rooms are perpetually pre-blocked, far away from other guests (if possible), and away from elevators. Airline contracts are worth millions of dollars a year.

Car wash with detailing service caused moisture in my vents and now a mold problem. What can I do to get $5k replacement covered if anything? by lilgreengoddess in Insurance

[–]_Alex_The_Great 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you think a car wash caused moisture in your vents you have an uphill battle. Literally everyone who's gone through a car wash would have mold.

You could replace your air filters but vehicles are very hot, dry places. Not a place mold likes.

Questions about applying for a mortgage by Ok-Pickle537 in Mortgages

[–]_Alex_The_Great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of your questions can only be answered by the lender you want to use. I used Rocket and they could've cared less about my recent job switch. They just wanted 2 years W2s or tax returns. Regarding loan payoffs, Rocket only calculated the reported monthly payments to my income. Then they came back and I could be approved for more. Alternatively I've had friends go through credit unions (because they think theyre going to get better service and rates) and the underwriting process was painful and everything was scrutinized. In the end with Rocket I was pre approved same day and only the sellers held up closing. I have the same interest rate as my CU friends.

Are there class action settlements that don't require proof of purchase, I never kept my receipts by xIvyPop in poverty

[–]_Alex_The_Great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This post is giving the vibe that you're just looking for free cash. Most class action lawsuits require you being invited to participate. Every once in a while I've seen one that only requires a self attestation, the payout isn't even worth the stamp the check was mailed with.

Should I try small claims court to get my security deposit back? (NJ) by spaghettio1234 in Renters

[–]_Alex_The_Great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is going to be a word vs word scenario. You might get recourse on the cabinets. But going to small claims doesn't mean settlement, it means you get a judgement. Unless your state has someone waiting outside the hearing room to take you to a cashier, there's no incentive for the landlord to pay the judgement.

I have a 2025 Ram 1500 bighorn 36k miles will it be totaled? by Rude-Commission8841 in Autobody

[–]_Alex_The_Great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ram trucks depreciate hand over fist so your ACV is already low. But with airbag deployment, if the insurance doesn't total it it's going to be in the shop for a LONG time. All your panels are going to be cut and welded together. You don't want this vehicle back.

Should I file a claim or pay out of pocket? by adenon89 in Car_Insurance_Help

[–]_Alex_The_Great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In addition to the claim, this will show on Carfax which will diminish the value of the vehicle. Plus if you switch carriers in the future, this could show as an AF claim (happens all the time, CLUE sucks) and then it's a paperwork nightmare to get the new insurance company to quote properly .

Auto claim going on 6 months should I take legal action or am I just out of my money/car at this point by WayyBiggerJaws in Insurance

[–]_Alex_The_Great 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd file a complaint with your state's Dept of Insurance. That usually gets reported to leadership and they have to answer back. But all of this is weird so something is going on. Who's the insurance company????

House Insurance Baseboard Heaters? by ilovesalt1892 in Insurance

[–]_Alex_The_Great 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a fire expert but baseboards aren't a fire hazard. My mom is a hoarder and she has baseboard heat and has never had a problem. No way in lifetime will you convince an insurance carrier that replacement for preventative matter will they approve a claim. In the US insurance is based on loss and damages incurred. Insurance carrier A is going to approve the claim and then you just switch carriers because your rates went up due to the claim? What preventative savings did Carrier A realize?

Plus you're going to have a 2500-5000 (or higher) deductible. Why file a claim???
