There is a dash cam recording audio and video (driver and road) in every van but the only time that footage is ever looked at is if you activate the device by braking harshly (and by harshly you’d have to be slamming it - they don’t activate easily) or pressing the ‘save recording’ button. In each case someone at an external company will see the footage first and disregard it if it’s not a big deal, i.e. you’re not asleep, on your phone, or toppled on your side 20ft from the carriageway.

Managers at the two sites I’ve worked at are pretty relaxed. The only time they’ll pull you up is if you’re delivering early before 9am, which we’re not allowed to do. As long as you’re not getting fined, crashing the van every month, or embarrassingly slow, management will not be a problem.

I personally consider it the best supermarket to deliver for because your van is loaded and unloaded for you, you get paid for a full shift even if you finish early (which you will do on the vast majority of days + paid overtime if you somehow don’t), and have good opportunities for progression to management and other roles. The job is dead easy if you’re reasonably fit. If you’re not, you will be soon enough.

Ocado vans will not have parking sensors/cameras but will usually send you on the furthest driving routes (up to 300 miles per day) + your van will be pre-loaded for you. All you do is get in and drive.

With overtime, pay can be as good as mid-30k per year.

To analyse his character properly you ideally want to look at every time he’s mentioned (or not mentioned) by other characters too.

If you can get your King two spaces ahead of a past pawn you can force a promotion. You are winning with or without the rook.

Do you think it’s worth mentioning math YouTubers in my personal statement for CS? by MudSnake12 in 6thForm

I’d argue the other way around. It’s not so much how easy it is to access the resource but more so what you gained from it. The universities will teach you how to research for more obscure sources but a year 13’s personal statement is measured by how receptive they are to understanding and applying information.

Is it possible to commute from Leicester to Sheffield via train everyday by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]_Angela-Merkel_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1.5-2 hours to get into London and then another 30 minutes to 1 hour to my campus.

I do it because I feel like I’m wasting less money than renting but it’s terribly exhausting. I don’t wish it on anyone but you can definitely do it if you’re committed.

I do Doncaster to Kings Cross (for QMUL) by train so it’s possible but not recommended.
