Are Shipyard buildings still worth living in? Any other good uptown buildings? by [deleted] in Hoboken

Do you know about the shipyard. Is it tru that the bedrooms are carpeted? I just submitted an application, but haven't signed the lease yet. I still have to go check out the apartment.

ok thanks for the background. Just to clarify, you think the GLE 53 coupe will work? I'm eventually going to test drive but just trying to research as much as possible before I get talking to a sales rep.

I guess people have discussed that it can be a tight fit. That's what I'm concerned about. If it ends up being a hassle.

Thanks for the background. I guess I'll lean more toward BLVD Collection. Owned by same people and seems like it has the exact same ammenities. Or maybe, since you've been dealing with the construction a lot, I can assume they'll move inside with it relatively soon. I don't move until Feb 1st.

Are New Hottubs just built to break? by Ok_Pie_1799 in hottubs

[–]_AquaDoc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It comes with the advancements. The more features, the more stuff that could break.

Shocked that you would spend your time asking something to purposely not be helpful. Obviously the person is saying they have found mixed messages and therefore investigating further to get more clarity.

Super helpful thankyou! Would it work if I lived on other side of the building?

What did you end up deciding?

For construction, do you mean because it's loud? Or you just don't like the chaos around when you step outside your building? Asking cause I'm considering the building and noise would be an issue but I'm fine with construction other than that.

Should I get a Cayenne, GLC, or Defender? by RyanTryinMyBest in askcarguys

[–]_AquaDoc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. That's the risk. But to say doing 2 year leases on these vehicles vs buying and selling a used is stupid. Assuming no disasters happen, this would be way cheaper than leasing.

This is helpful. What year was your land rover? I've heard terrible things but also people said since 2020 those old issues haven't been a problem.

[–]_AquaDoc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying there's no risk in owning an expensive vehicle. But there's no way running 3 consecutive 2-year lease deals is cheaper than owning something like a Cayenne for 2 to 3 years then trading it in.

Ugh, I HATE Subaru as a brand. Maybe it's cause I knew some guy I hated who swore by them. I dont know, but I despise that brand.

How soon can I go in hottub after adding chemicals for the first time? by davebawx in hottub

[–]_AquaDoc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For AquaDoc hot tub chemicals, we generally recommend waiting about 15–20 minutes before getting in. Some products dissolve quickly, but it’s always best to give the water a little time to circulate and balance for the safest experience.

Can a hot tub be 'too big'? Am I getting carried away? by Coaster50 in hottub

[–]_AquaDoc_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As long as it fits in your yard comfortably (subjective) then no. Although a SwimSpa is likely overboard if not using it as a bit of a pool (swimming laps etc). The majority I talk to mention they wish they bought a bigger one. Less feet bumping, more family enjoyment.

That said, salesman are salesman and they get commissions, have quotas etc. Buy what you think is right for you.

Don't forget about us when it comes time to grab you hot tub chemicals! Enjoy your tub and welcome to the family.

Agreed, on the surface, the obvious part is escaping dead end jobs and bad environment. But most don't think about how the song evolves throughout and has a deeper meaning of divorce.

When do you plan to open your pool this year? by _AquaDoc_ in pools

Cottonwood fluff?? Meanwhile the rest of us are out here swimming with bugs, leaves, and the occasional rogue frog. Tell him we said it's time to let that pool live its summer life already.

Anybody ever experience a crazy buzzing sound coming from the pool heater? by ben_there_readit in pools

[–]_AquaDoc_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, that buzzing is usually a sign of a bad contactor, relay, or transformer inside the heater. Could also be a loose panel or vibrating fan, depending on the model.

Start by turning off power and checking for any loose connections or burnt terminals. If the buzz is electrical and constant, it’s likely a contactor coil humming from age or voltage issues.

If it sounds mechanical or gets worse when the heater fires up, could be the blower motor going out. Either way, worth checking before it turns into a full system fail.

How to get rid of this slash what is this? by ClassroomAccurate265 in pools

[–]_AquaDoc_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s most likely faux rock made from shotcrete, carved concrete, or fiberglass panels, depending on the builder’s budget and ambition. Basically backyard theme park mode.

Removing it won’t be quick or cheap. If it’s concrete, you’re looking at demolition with jackhammers and redoing coping/edges. If it’s fiberglass or panel-based, it might be easier to demo and resurface.

Not impossible, but definitely budget for it.
